Demon dance is off yes, I feel like it interrupts forward momentum too much and kannagi is better for actually dodging. But flash attack is still on, I just bypass it by sheathing as quickly as possible between the ki pulse and weapon swap! So r1(hold)->o->d-pad. That opens up some cool combos using multiple weapons :)

@@bonhomme2867 makes sense, DD interferes with the sheathe weapon swap as well. If I'm correct, it's possible to weapon swap without sheating, by doing a flux cancel (aka machinegun flux), but I find the sheathe method easier. BTW, always been a fan of your videos, in the past as well, glad to see you are still alive :D

I agree. I'm currently running with a dual sword Sign of the Cross build so I can just erase human enemies with constant knock downs and just have to focus on learning yokai boss movesets, but even then the game becomes pretty damn stale when all you do is circle for a back attack and spam SotC.

Can't forge it, it drops in the abyss on ethereal bows, the easiest way I think is to farm floors with marume nagayoshi as a sub boss, he ways drops a bow

Thank you! It's my favorite as well, along with tonfa. I use Ame-no-Mitori guardian spirit, which gives some ki regen, and high courage stat. And the buff is from Ame-no-Uzume grace, which procs every evasion attack. Very good, but you can't get that grace until NG++ I think. I wish they would have made ki regen faster in the beginning of the game, I don't understand why they made it so sluggish. Maybe to teach us to use ki pulses and yokai abilities to regain ki.

Yes, versatility (Susano, +60% at 9 stacks, get a stack for every unique skill that hits) and death dancer (Ame-no-uzume, +70% at 9 stacks, get a stack when hitting after not getting hit for a while, lose stacks when getting hit or blocking -- great with spear).

Thanks- the first hit (ground slam) no longer has that long stun that it had in nioh 1, so they can often hit you between the first hit and later spinny hits:(

Hey, welcome to Nioh! The equipment you use doesn't matter very much in the first difficulty, so yeah just whatever has higher defense or perks you like! And defense isn't as important early on, you shouldn't get one-shot even with light armor unless you go on to NG++ cycles. Equipment Sets are powerful, but there are a lot of good choices, you can use whatever you like the look of. I think Red Demon and warrior of the west are popular choices for high damage, but not necessary at all if you don't want to worry about it. The ninjutsu and onmyo spells are also really powerful if you get stuck at some point (but I prefer not to rely on those too much, I try to just learn combat better)

I agree Agility A is slightly more fun, until you just can't stand getting one-shot anymore. But in Nioh 2 so far yeah I'm also always agility A. And yeah, there are way higher damage builds out there for blasting through to floor 999, but that's just not the purpose of this build -- trying to do as many floors as possible is not fun to me at all, I prefer just getting on and having fun fights. This can still kill annoying bosses plenty fast -- check out the Onmoraki video on my channel -- but yeah it's not for everyone!

Yes it is, and corrupted enemies take 25% more ki damage. Purified take 50% more ki damage (and ki pulse on block is excellent), but for how quickly humans can be corrupted it's pretty awesome.

Bonhomme Thanks for the info, I thought the additional ki damage was the same for corruption and purity, good to have that debunked. Honestly, I hope the dlc adds a corruption buff (or even just a spell) so that I can use purity weapons but still get the awesome ki pulse bonus or to finally have consistent methods of rapidly applying corruption to Yokai. I can wish...

200 stamina would be better with Todo clan, but 200 skill gives you better weapon damage since many of the weapons scale with skill. That's why I made that decision. If you're only using the axe and odachi, which scale with stamina, then 200 stamina and low skill is the best of both worlds.

I actually like the additional challenge of switching to high stance or using skills when they block. In general tho, yeah that makes tonfa even deadlier
