Water is more dangerous than the damn boss, i fell in like 10 times.

When you widdle the boss down to 10% hp, feel confident so you pop your Spirit special attack, proceed to roll straight into water

Out here struggling Bc I assume lightning would be the counter to water. Silly me, of course I should’ve set that water monster on fire

The last couple times i went to fight this boss he does the instant death ray as soon as i get through the doors. Its horrible

The falling into the water adds a level of cheap bullshit to this fight. I get that it's "challenging" but that is just stupid. It's not fun.

Fire beats water..makes sense.

This was the first fight I was stuck on for an entire 3 hours. until I realized a WATER bosses weakness is FIRE.

After 100th time trying, just when im about to give up, I finally beat it.

Someone recommended using the fire masks, tried it out last night and it only took 2 masks to quickly kill him in the second phase.

The second best thing about Nioh videos - other than the videos themselves - are the comment sections. It's like an international bunch of friends who all share those days, weeks and in some cases years of abuse by Nioh. Yet we can't stop playing it because it's so much fun😁

The problem with this boss is that I was applying Pokemon knowledge. I was using an electricity katana thinking that would be perfect against water.... but instead, this water boss is weak to fire. So yeah, Nioh logic lol. Once you figure that out, this boss isn't so bad. Sidenote: These badass characters in videogames need to learn to swim.

First time fighting this boss i died to learn the move set and when i try to get my amrita back this thing just use the beam and 1 shot me right after the cutscene, still hate this one until now

I just started playing this game. I tried to use a visitor the first 3 times I fought this boss. died each time. tried by myself the 4th time and beat him. I felt like the boss is much easier in his 2nd stage

Bruh this boss was so damn ridiculous. Not because he was difficult to fight. But because of his little friend that would be so annoying, the damn camera on the second phase, and then the area in general always had me falling in the damn water. Deadass took me like 40 tries. But only because I was so impatient. Moral of the story is, be patient af

Sometimes it doesn't do a slam in second phase if it does use a bomb to trigger it doing a slam. Just be sure you have lots of bombs

I'm dumb and didnt realize this had a Fume Knight mechanic and that lighting the bonfires outside would cause all the bonfires in the area to light up causing the ads not to spawn til you take the fire

Wait what? that phase 2 did only the lunge and the rather useless sweep? In my playthrough .... not only it summoned 2 mini monsters immediately, it also used the jump attack frequently... are we playing the same game here?

you don't to fight the wall thing, find a dead soul close by and use the color jester that is not on the dead soul and it will open for you.

Umi Bōzu will ask for a barrel and pour water onto the boat if given a barrel. Umi Bōzu will continue to pour water onto the boat until the boat sinks. If you give Umi Bōzu a bottomless barrel then Umi Bōzu will try to pour water onto the boat but will have no affect. It will give you a time to quick escape.

The mask that makes you breath fire did 900 damage on him, i used 3 of those and my live weapon once and beat him

The umibozu is the spirit of a drowned monk. Why are they not afraid of water, yet are weak to fire?

Once you master the water, you have to master the boss next

You can easily damage him by his hand if he throw it go on his fist you wil see a yellow thing just hit it and the damage will double

this boss battle made me quit Nioh 1. looking back, I was so concerned w/ maximizing damage and getting the right load out that I failed to recognize how predictable his patterns are. Although, w/ no fires lit or spells, this battle easily takes like 3-4 times longer.

Definitely was one of the hardest boss to beat at the beginning.

you don't seem to have the 2 minions when the boss comes on the platform... those guys are more annoying than the boss itself

Quit Nioh for a while but got back into it last night. Equipped everything I have that can do fire damage and added some water resistance talisman. Soon as I get off work today I will finish this fight and finally move on!

Is it just me or does he now spawn 2 adds right at the start? Makes dodging his shit really hard if you need to deal with 2 mini blobs at the same time..

When the boss jumped on the plateform he summon like 3 or 4 small ones makes it much harder..why in here he didn’t summon any

Literally just beat him holy shit! So obviously don't go into the fight without your guardian spirit. Use it on the final stage when he comes onto the platform. Use it to get rid of his minions and go from there.

Just learn magic and use a fire weapon that does multipul hits and use kato or a fire spirit and you'll beat em no problem but lighting the fires gets rid of the minions in the boss fight to its pretty useful

i feel bad watching this video. i did with flame axe 1500 dmg per hit on the yellow(weak) points. i did everything the opposite. always away from it w8ing its arms to pass hits or dodge beam to hit face. 2nd phase i used ninjutsu bomb fireball and flame shuriken and dodge its jump attack with fire spirit activation. after learning what to dodge its quite easy took me around 20min

if you're going to hit the body in the first phase make sure to *not* press forward while attacking. During Attack you cannot fall of ledges but you can fall on downtime.

Smh. I just gave up after fighting this boss for more than two hrs last night. I should've watched this video 1st because I was only attacking its arms/hands when he slammed them because my target lock had locked on them. It took so long just to get him down to half life. Going to have to play this was later lol

Im on my second playthrough and doing twighlight, Umi bozu does nothing but neverending death rays that insta kill. I cant read that attack because it looks identical to the spitting ship attack. Im losing my mind. I died 10x in a row to the stupid death ray. I fuking hate this piece of shit!

That looks so easy in your video. -.- And it didn´t even use his little guys on you. In my first try I came in and he spit out three little guys which kept me at bay while he shot me to death.

I think it debuffs him too….I fought him 6 times with fire omnyo and heavy armour and he 1 shot me almost every time….after I lit the fires I beat him no problem.

Magic build is best for this fight I was hitting him for about 10k damage per fire shot. Pure projectile build is OP tbh...

Throwing bombs have worked for the last bosses. This has been a great and helpful video.

I'm playing this game right now after having finished Bloodborne, Elden Ring and Sekiro back-to-back (I've also finished the DS games some time ago). While I don't hate this game (in fact, I AM having a good time), I can't deny that some bosses are cheap AF, like this one. Heck, this entire level sucked, with all those narrow paths and water everywhere. Also, whose bright idea was it to make a WATER creature strong to electricity, yet weak to fire?!?!? Many of the design choices in this game not only make me question the devs, but they also make me miss FromSoft games. On the flipside, Nioh 2 is supposed to be better, so I guess I'll have that to look forward to when I finish this... in a few weeks...
