Actually the charm of this podcast is the varying level of Mandarin. In Singapore we have such a wide spectrum of viewers. Some with good Chinese some potatoes so this is a dynamic that works.

Really love the guest this week & it brought back memories of waiting for wahbanana & NOC weekly video updates back in 2013/2014. It was also refreshing to hear Ling Yi & Charlene's challenges as a female boss in SG - feel that we don't get to hear this enough as male bosses in the KZfaq scene tend to have more exposure in the media interviews imo. Really enjoyed this episode! 😊

Great episode, over time as John speaks more mandarin, his standard will improve. The channel should have a yearly recap of his improving mandarin standard.

omg i feel so validated. i work in specialized retail job, and everyone will ignore me and my girl colleague and go straight to my male colleagues even though we are better qualified. i tell the male staff about this reality of ours, and they are very dismissive of it and said we "think too much".

我的话语好是因为更她一样，有机会在新加坡和台湾人长期工作，在中国工作公干。对自要求至少人家要听得懂，自然而然的，咬字就比较字正腔圆，因为新加坡人的舌头其实在讲话的时候都很懒惰。就像“时候”shí念成sí 侯。那时感觉绝对丢人。

hmm I don't think the female thing is true entirely. I think they ignore the wife because they're not familiar with her, and just may feel awkward. as for Ryan's I think its just a boss thing, plus he's so prominent, so clients will give him face and reply immediately. don't think its a female thing because from my experience, females get equal respect too/ clients always look for the female boss when the whole team is male. (for my job at least), you just gotta show your dominance and of course, be smart.

no wonder i always thought her mandarin sounds like from china. anyway local or not, she is an attractive woman in SG. killer game is nice but stop for too long liao lah
