Hi, here is my attempt at what it would have sounded like if Nirvana had played Lithium at the MTV Unplugged show :))
I was just having fun trying to reproduce the tone of Kurt's guitar with a magnetic pickup I had just got for my acoustic guitar, but I ended up recording a whole song that I wish they had played at that show
I reused Kurt's vocals from Live & Loud show and added 2 guitars, a bass, a cello and drums (and applause snippets from MTV Unplugged)
So, tell me what you think!

Indeed a good job for an amateur. But as a guitarist you hear the guitar playing is not in sync with the vocal at all unfortunately. Still a very decent job..

I’ll never cease listening to this. Sounds like it was yesterday. Kurt’s creation is deeply embedded in my heart. Lyrics & riffs cut like a knife. Wondrous artist. An infinite spirit ❤♾

Any one of these is my vote. Smells Like Teen Spirit, Aneurysm, Molly’s Lips, Tourettes, Negative Creep, Heart Shaped Box, Stay Away, or Sliver. Thanks for taking the time to have done Lithium, and for any of them that you do in the future.

Sometimes I watch clips of nirvana and those three amazing artists and get very sad. The previous generations saw their heroes assassinated fighting the machine where I feel my generation's heroes took their own lives or where overcome by their addictions. Perhaps from the overwhelming powerlessness over the realization of how powerful that machine has become.

I've always wished they played lithium at unplugged because it just sounds like it would fit the unplugged sound and although Kurt probably wouldn't be aggressive on vocals like this but this is still fantastic for what you have to work with!

Well since Lithium is used to treat bi-polar disorder, here's a twist- during the chorus, instead of Kurt screaming "yea" imagine Old Dirty Bastard from WuTang rapping "Brooklyn Zoo". I bet Kurt and Dave would have loved it as they were fans of NWA already.

I would have used Kurt's vocal from the alternate version of the Lithium mix from the Nevermind sessions, not the well known "mix 6" but another that surfaced more recently. It had an acoustic intro at that time and might fit better though this was still pretty awesome, watch your tempo though, you got a little carried away in the chorus but so did Dave Grohl. It was the only song he was asked to use a metronome on because he kept going too fast in the chorus lol. Nice work though!

Thanks a lot! I basically took kurt's vocals from the Live and Loud show. I then recorded the guitars and I tried to match the tone from the ones used in the Unplugged show. Then I programmed bass, drums and cello, added reverb, mixed the whole thing and here it is :)

Yeah there are bits I had to re-record because they were inaccurate/out of tempo, so I'll reupload the corrected/remixed version by the end of July, with a few other nirvana songs
