@connellyj823

This was the song that ushered in the entire sound of 90s rock. The radio would never sound the same again thereafter, and the influence Nirvana had on music remains to this day. While this song got a bit overexposed, it's a fun jam and a good introduction to an absolutely iconic musical artist (Kurt Cobain)

Cory Rollinson negative ghost rider. Soundgarden had a major label debut in 1989 and was the first of the Seattle bands to do so. And that was their 3rd album as well. The original old guard of the Seattle scene (The Melvins, Green River, Malfunkshun, Skin Yard.... so many that gave birth to what became lumped together by some mktg genius 🙄 as ‘grunge’).

I was 18 years old, when this song came out. It hit me like a train. Its hard to describe for younger folks.... at the time, this sounded so real, energetic, and raw..... it was amazing. Compared to all the other fake hair metal and soft rock that was out at the time. This was like a color movie showing up when everything else was black and white. Still sounds great to me too, that song holds up, doesn't sound dated at all.

Bill Bored i was only 9, but had older siblings whom, thankfully, kept me informed on the best music. Ive heard the intro/daves snare compared to the snare which kicks off like a rolling stone. A signal to the listener that times have changed, this is different, and things will never be the same. I always appreciated that comparison

Some songs bring back VERY specific memories to me. This is one of them. This song came out in late 1991 and was a HUGE hit. It was my friend Keith's favorite song. We were both 27 yrs old at the time. The following 4th of July (1992), we all went to Keith's house for a BBQ. He lived on a quiet, private dirt road. He was married and had two small children. So after sundown, he went and did fireworks in the road for his kids to see. We were all on the yard in lawnchairs watching. Then some drunk driver, fleeing the police, came speeding down this private dirt road at about 80mph and hit and killed Keith. Right in front of us. Right in front of his children. As this was his favorite song, his widow had it played at his memorial service. So when I hear this song, it doesn't bring back any happy memories. It just makes me think of watching my friend Keith being killed.

Don't you just love it when you come across a tune you've "kind of heard" for years, but don't know a thing about, then get to actually sit still and LISTEN to it? I'm 58 years old and have been a huge music fan since I was old enough to sit up on my own, and I still run into tunes like that on occasion (although it's becoming harder to do with each passing year.) That's one reason I love your channel and your videos so much. Not only are your reactions so real, but you genuinely enjoy the musical journey you're on. There are a ton of reaction channels out there, but you're #1 in my book because you look like you're having just as much fun as I am. I have an absolute blast watching you discover the music I love (I think I've watched your SRV reactions a hundred times apiece - easily 100 times apiece,) and kind of re-live that feeling of discovery through you. Keep doing what you're doing, and keep being you. Peace to you and yours, my friend, and may God bless you all.

I didn't have a favorite song, I didn't like any bands, I didn't listen to anything. Until I changed schools and the bus driver played a rock station. Then I heard this song and it blew my little 10 year old mind. I didn't know music could sound like this and it influenced me greatly. After I heard this song, I began to listen to so much 90's rock and I found so many bands to love, all because of this song. (then 15-20 years later I would discover my dad's music and fall in love with classic rock once I was done being a teenager.)

I didn’t know that Nirvana did this song, either. I have heard this once in a while but, not often. This is one of those songs that a person will listen to if, it plays on the radio. I never got into Nirvana. The songs tended to be a little darker than I could handle at the time. This is when my husband and I were still living in the often gloomy winters, Puget Sound. I need a lot of sunshine all year long. Thanks for the reaction, Jamel.
