As a Full Time RVer, getting a MAJOR, SHOW STOPPING mechanical failures fixed in a timely manner on a luxury motorhome is virtually impossible. Virtually all the RV dealerships will tell you to "drop the rig off" and they will work it into their schedule. This is simply unworkable for many of us, whether you are a vacationer, part-timer or full-timer!
NIRVC provided an "installation discount" to Sue & Mark. In turn, we captured the entire process on film and produced this Fresh Water/Gray Water Install Series for everyone to follow!
All (6) of the National Indoor RV Centers (NIRVC) have a different business model, mindset & philosophy. Their CEO, Brett Davis, is a full-time RVer himself, and totally understands the challenges of this fantastic lifestyle. All NIRVC locations will do everything they can to help you when your chips are down while on the road on your adventure.
Check out this episode as we BEGIN our multi-week, and multi-project stay at NIRVC-Atlanta which will include: New front tires, replace our gray & black tank, detail & ceramic coat the rig, raise the vanity mudflap, replace the passenger side mirror, install a new inverter and upgrade to lithium batteries.

What really impresses me most about Mark & Sue's - OJIM channel is their ability to keep big rig ownership real, entertaining, and educational with the occasional glass of wine topped off with harmonious fun! You three, Myles included are totally good for each other - kind-spirited, looking after each others best- safe & secure-minded interests - loved & pampered - in the best cared for way. Your journey - magical in Myles - both traveled in tender devotion to the other - to cherish the time & distance spent together - safe & sound and , most of all - Love. And, as Ralph Waldo Emerson put it; "Life is a Journey, Not a Destination."

Thanks for another great video. I'm on pins and needles waiting to see the follow up videos. I recently changed out my batteries for 920 amp-hr lithium batteries. The project went well. It couples with my 1200 watt solar very well. To your point, I chose to keep my Magnum inverter and found out the control board needs to be replaced to better handle the lithium batteries. Not much lithium use in 2014. I must say Magnum customer service has been amazing, specifically Scott. I installed a dc-dc charger and eliminated the original BIM. Recently I had the DEF head, alternator, exhaust manifold, and grid heater replaced ($$$). Unfortunately I'm a slow learner and had the grid heater replaced at Truck County in Oak Creek. Once again a very difficult experience. As my friend's dad always says "it just costs a little more to go first class". Again thanks for all the information you provide.

Oh my God Mike, what a great comment. We are trying not to make the same mistake twice buying AGM. They are the CD player of batteries now,.......great in the day,.......but not a good user experience. We are putting in 960Ah and already have a 1200 watt solar array that may or may not work. We will find out. Changing to all Victron. We had a HORRIBLE experience at Truck Country in Oak Creek WI. and they refused to take any responsibility for their poor workmanship. I filed a formal complaint with the established, Freightliner Custom Chassis Customer Care "Problems" Form on-line. I specifically talked about how their Oasis Network Rating should be reviewed and looked at more critically based on our experience. Freightliner said they can't do anything about their poor Oasis care & service, so at least I got that settled. Apparently the Oasis Registered Trademark doesn't REALLY mean anything special. It's still just a truck shop. We have never used them again,.......and that was almost 7 years ago now.

Another great video Sue, I say this because it's obvious who is doing the heavy lifting of the video work & Mark is (trying) to be the pretty face, but Sue has that covered as well. Seriously, while I have a 5th wheel & not a 'pusher', I'm always impressed how you both relay the good & not so good parts of RV life. Stay safe out these and keep enjoying life.

The techs are all well trained and very knowledgeable, they talk to you and let you see what is going on with your service. Mark this is one of your top 5 videos, the details you showed of the work was so detailed. Yes Matt the tech is a focused person he is busy all the time. NIRVC 7 day 12 hour a day service is game changing in the RV industry soon they will have 24 hour 7 day a week service to offer. Mark did met Todd the parking guy he has a he shed near where you parked at night. Mark I look forward to past 2 or maybe part 3 to see the rest of the work. Safe travels my friends

Your wetbay knowledge should be greatly enhanced after all that. So did your tanks actually crack and fail? What made them leak???
@OurJourneyInMyles
@OurJourneyInMyles 8 ай бұрын
I am working on that episode now. But here is the simple answer: It leaked at the manufacturing assembly glued seam! Totally not anyones fault except the tank companies quality control,........and I unfortunately have to pay the price because I am the one holding the bag. certain things should never be a failure mode item in RVs or cars. You would never expect for instance to have your steering wheel snap off. Its the samr for your RV Tanks. The top of the tank should never come off the bottom. BTW: Our tanks have never been frozen because the rig is always in warm weather along with us!

But I would call it that too! Mark I don’t blame you on the stress levels. You just have to say in with good air and out with the bad. Lol! I’ve been watching you both for 6 years almost as long as you been rving. It doesn’t feel like it’s been that long ago. Time flies. Can’t wait until next video to what’s been done and how it looks. Now, I physically can NOT be in the positions required, I cannot be upside down, and punish myself for hours on end fixing issues. I have to hire a professional. You will only get your moneys worth at the top tier service providers. I must say that this lifestyle is so awesome, it makes these "pauses" worth the trouble. Fortunately we've not had nearly the maintenance issues you seem to have, but it's a comfortable feeling knowing we're covered. Hey Andrea! I would suggest the following. Currently, their is a "Waitlist" for a few of the sizes of Rettrobands. This wait could be months, because the product comes from Australia. If you can "guess" on a date to stop by to get the Rettrobands, make a reservation to get your spot in the cue, and THEN your Rettrobands will be reserved for your appointment. You can always CANCEL your appointment,.......but by making it later on in the year will just put you at the end of the list when you call. Good luck guys,....

@OurJourneyInMyles
@OurJourneyInMyles 8 ай бұрын
We are working on this video now. It will be out around 12-03-2023. Best way to get cost figures is to call the NIRVC location you would be working with, and talk to a Paint & Body Shop Advisor like our Adam Toland at the Atlanta Store. The level of "paint correction" that they need to do determines the final cost. The level of paint correct is LARGELY SET BY YOU, THE CUSTOMER. It's all about your expectations, and the tolerance to the impurfections you currently have in the paint job. "Paint Correction" is repairing chips, scratches, dents, burn marks & swirls from past "bad" wax jobs, etc. How many levels of polishing compounds required can increase costs. Because our rig is 10 years old, we decided to fix NO chips, NO scratches, and only had the Minimum Compounding Polishing done to bring the paint color back to life! It was our birthday present to our Magic Carpet!

Newmar does seem to have more options with their coaches, however you do pay for it. They are almost like BMW or Mercedes where everything is an option. This makes a Mountain Aire cost similar to what a Cornerstone retails for at Entegra. Even though chassis wise the Cornerstone is equal to a London Aire.

@@OurJourneyInMyles maybe you will stay long enough that some southern slang will rub off on you guyz. Good thing y’all have that laser printer cause you’ll need a bundle of cash to pay for that stop. No wonder Sue married you! You thought it was for your looks and charm! Take care!!!

@@randyshay7280 All kidding aside,.....we have literally been "saved" by a long term subscriber/viewer couple that has become friends over the years, and we are staying in a mother-in-law suite in their home. It is only 12 minutes from NIRVC. This has removed so much stress and financial burden on these projects, that when we come "home" to their house, we actually relax! Since they have a NEW rig that they store at NIRVC-Atlanta, we have tons of things to catch up on. We have "built-in" resturant buddies a few days a week, and they have had us for Sunday dinner two nights so far! We have been blessed with good people in our life,..... Thank you Bob & Joy!

I enjoy these video's and you make it known that it's not for the weak, it just seems like it's super expensive owning an RV. Maybe I always see you spending money because you use your rig allot?

Thanks for watching! We live and travel in it all year long. We do not have a home. We tend to keep everything working on our rig. Some folks chose to not fix things as they stop working, and one day, to their amazement, their entire RV is one big pile of junk! We want to stay on top of all our issues. Of course this gray tank issue was important. Others may have just left it leak. I apparently had the leak for a few years.

@@bchlvrbob thanks for the insight. I just bought a used 2003 Dutch Star from a nice couple 86 and 89 years old. EVERYTHING was due. If I wasn’t mechanically inclined just catching up on all the maintenance would have been stressful but I save a lot doing it all myself.

Hey, I feel for you seams like you had a lot of repairs on Myles. Me personnelly i change fronts steers every 2yrs and backs every 4yrs. Tire cheaper than blowout damage. Plus in Florida hot roads too. The Michelin's the only way I go. The battery inverter upgrade you'll like a lot. We where watching your video and the group next door said he eats too much mexican food he that why the hole in the black tank. He was going to take a shower i turn his water off he came out and we turned it down. I got him back for calling my cat a furball. 🐈 He NYer it allowed FL rules.

Thanks for coming to our defense. Besides,.......it was the gray tank,..........black is still the original.

I’m sorry but to me you guys seem to have a lot of issues with your coach, we have an 05 Dynasty and haven’t had half the issues that you seem to have, maybe it’s coming, idk. Nothing implied, just seems it’s all the time. Love the videos!

We do live and travel in it 24/7. We put about 7,000 miles a year on it, and are full time. Plus, I admit to being an "over" maintainer! But of course, this gray tank repair is just plain bad luck!

So much for the Newmar quality garbage my Winnebago has less problems then this does and it's not that good quality to start with!

I know this whole repair looks bad, but the reality is that we got unlucky with a tank glue seam that simply let loose. Being full time adds a whole new meaning to "wear & tear" on our systems. We are going to patch up the rig,....and carry on!
