@@christian100x35Not even close to what the GTR was, it’s just a lot of performance for the money, the GTR wasn’t just a lot of performance, it was THEE performance, when it came out there was nothing NOTHING that could compete with it… C8 is definitely punching above it’s weight class but GTR said “fuck work” and created its own! 😂

Streetspeed raced his Z06 against a New GT500 and pulled on it too. Aero hurt its top end though because of all the track racing downforce created by the massive rear wing, front canards, body, bumper splitter and under body aero strakes

@@advicemaster1365Its possible. Depends on year of that GTR. The GTR's in the first few years only trapped like 121 stock and ran high 11's in 1/4 mile. C8 is capable of low 11's and 123 mph traps.

It’s a roll race and I didn’t expect anything differently to happen. I got a slightly modded 2012 GTR and I really don’t like doing it because it takes all the strength away from the 0-60, 0-100mph, I don’t have the roll race map to launch on a roll but I’ll still roll race I don’t care about taking an L! It’s about having fun…

The Z06 is on a different level though, sounds like a Ferrari with a 9k rev limit I think… My car is pushing too much power for the base model. Regardless, they knocked it out the park with the design and engineering, not a fan of the rear end look but hell, that’s all I have to say disparaging about the car.

@@denchru6055 I’m not sure if they come out the factory with a roll launch or Highway setting, I would think not but their are tunes you get for the c8. The ECU is very complicated as it took tuning experts a while to figure out how to bypass and basically break into the computer. Now anything is possible!

Good race. But in the end, that top end speed from the vette plus the AWD HP sacrifice from the GTR gave the Vette the edge. Both are beautiful cars

What did you guys expect ? It’s a roll race, the gtr immediately loses its advantage now it’s similar horse power while the c8 is lighter, traction is no longer a issue either because they did a roll at high speeds so the vett has full grip

Lol Now I will say this though, from 55mph to 165mph + that thing is nasty. Basically, the Hellcat will keep up with anything on the street but like I said it needs that roll… From the dig, it’s seeing taillights…

@@ezaffe_xo No it wouldn’t! I hellcats got a lot of power shit load of torque but no traction and weight distribution is the Achilles Heal for the Hellcat. On a roll race at 40 it would get left by a car or so immediately then after 130 you will gain a little ground but from a dead stop, z06 by 4 or 5 cars or more.

Wow. Kind of surprised to see this... Pulling on a GTR, WTHECK??? I thought the GTR would have taken this. Especially if stock to stock. Well... But.... This is a rolling race, not from a dig; and the C8 Corvette is a few hundred pounds lighter with short gearing. Beautiful color combination on the C8 with the Rapid blue with the carbon flash top - similar to the way I would like to order mine - if you can ever find a dealership with allocation :-(. C8 sounds quite good too, especially when it shifts.

@@RBZ06LT6 Dude, you obviously don't know Nissan GTR's; just Google them. Modified GTR's have 1000 hp on up to 2000+ hp. EASILY. They're called Godzilla for a reason. Had that GTR been only slightly modified, that C8 Vette would gotten spanked all upside the head. Racing against a Nissan GTR is like playing Russian roulette, that dude in the C8 was lucky that GTR wasn't modified. They are not fit to fool with.... I have owned 11 new Corvettes, I'm a Vette guy. Never raced a GTR with any of them; but I'm aware of what GTR's are capable of. They're FAST.

Remember when the GTR’s came out with launch control and a way better transmission than everything else? Then everyone caught up and the GTR has not been Godzilla since the 2010’s, lol. They were destroying everything at the drag strip and beating high HP cars because of the quick shifting. Not ANYMORE!!! Lol

If you don't think gtrs are still dominating you must be hanging around with the slow cars. The fastest cars at any meets I go to are gtrs and lambos. And in the past two years I've noticed a couple vipers and one Porsche. I haven't seen a single fast corvette in the past 5 years or so.

Tbh with you, I don’t know why they keep using the same platform in the GTR, from 2009 to now, it’s still the same motor just small tweaks to the turbo, by now it should’ve been upgraded to at-least a 4.2 or 4.4 engine, like cmon Nissan do better, everyone going up except you.

First off whoever said that the new Z06 is a $60,000 car , better go check check your local dealer. The 2023 zo6 in my area are $180k - $250 k I believe MSRP IS 105K give or take the rest is dealer mark up ,due to limited stock ...... That being said I am quite surprised to this outcome myself, the Skyline has always been put on a pedestal.

@jasonvanesch3093 it's actually 495hp vs 600hp in the R35 GTR. The GTR is just very heavy for what it is and AWD doesn't help from a roll

Weird outcome. I guess the GT-R’s I raced weren’t stock if I beat a C8 by a few cars from 20-120. This is wild race. Didn’t think these were this close stock for stock. Z06 gonna eat. 😮

If both are stock then it's just aerodynamics. The vette is more streamlined than the GT-R.

Nice vid! I wasn’t expecting the r35 to keep it that close tbh. I love the cars but they just don’t have what it takes anymore. With what we have today the Gtr just isn’t that fast anymore. Unless you rebuild it from the ground up.
