You do not want to go with anything more than an air or cordless ratchet for that application.

@@OOpSjm arh ok, seen some others yes.; It would be good to understand the model numbers and related valve body models. I have an fx30d which i think has a JATCO JR710E otherwise known as an X387C but god knows what valve body, let alone if any of what i'm saying is right.

p0720 is a bit generic, but check that your Speedo works first. If you still have a working speedo then it may not be the sensor. To change the sensor: 1) Drain and Remove trans pan. 2) Disconnect sensor wire from TCM board 3) Drop tail extension of transmission (after disconnecting axle) 4) 10mm to undo sensor as shown. 5) reverse steps to install new sensor

the problem is either a bad valve body or bad tq converter

Clean and check the solenoids in the valve body. They may have gotten gunked up with debris.

Service intervals for an automatic transmission vary from every 70,000 miles to never. The typical service interval is 70,000 to 100,000 miles. Changing it more often does absolutely no harm. Because heat is generated in an automatic transmission as the friction plates slip during a shift, automatic transmission fluid actually degrades and breaks down with use. If you don't change the transmission fluid at all, you'll be lubricating your transmission with degraded fluid and other contaminants. This will shorten the transmission's life. In other words, changing your transmission fluid at the correct interval is a good investment. If when you take a sample of the fluid from your car and it is dark and has a burned smell, then it is time to service your unit. If however a sample of fluid is clean and smells fairly new then you can hold off for another 30,000 miles, be sure the fluid level is correct. Many manufactures purchase their transmission from JATCO, ASIAN, or ZF, and the manufacturers give you a warranty for up to 70,000 to 100,000 miles. However after that you are on your own as far your vehicle maintenance and repair is concerned.

I got a 2018 Nissan Navara - mexican manufactured - (Frontier in Brazil) with a similar transmission and I am looking for the oil and filter replacement for the ATF. Can I hold the original fluid for up to 5 years if I don't reach the minimum mileage - a repair shop told me it must be replaced with 50.000 km (31.000 miles) or four years. The owner's manual just brings the following information: ATF oil must respect "NIssan Matic S" specs. There's nothing about time intervals.

@@zepe_reira Transmission fluid can be stored for extremely long periods of time whether it's stored in the bottle on the shelf or in the transmission. Mileage is the major factor for both engine oils and transmission fluids.

I would say that a side by side comparison would show that there are definite similarities. Mercedes has traditionally developed their own automatic transmissions and JATCO is a separate company but it appears that they are definitely talking to each other unofficially.

So far this has been a winner for Nissan and Infiniti as these cars and SUVs equipped this transmission have held up very well. Some of its applications are real high performance vehicles and it seems to be handling the load and lasting fairly well.

The first step would be to install the scan tool and check for fault codes and monitor operation while observing the symptoms. A quick check of fluid level and condition is in order, however, I believe the 2017 Q50 does not have a transmission fluid dipstick. These types of transmissions are designed to be maintenance free. In order to check the transmission fluid, your vehicle likely has a overflow bolt on the bottom of the transmission pan. Your car must be level when the fluid is checked and we therefore recommend having a mechanic with a hydraulic lift or underground bay check your transmission fluid. If you are still under warranty I would recommend letting the dealer inspect the unit and make any recommendations.

if the transmission is ot damaged you dont & also make sure ur fill & drain bolt are ok & great condition as to ur thread to both of them

craig sawyer bring it to the infinity/Nissan dealer and they should be able to do an updated software flash that helps with the sluggish shifting.

Buy a manual transmission....

It is always a good idea to service the transmission and change the fluid in the transfer case on a high mileage vehicle. When changing fluids look carefully at the old fluid for condition, metal, and clutch material. Normally it is hard to hear the solenoids turning on and off so I would suspect a possible mechanical problem developing with this loud clicking sound.

@@ThompsonAutoTest that would be great I just installed a speed sensor and started reassembling drive shaft is already installed as I was installing transmission linkage I couldn't get the transmission into Park. I was wondering was it any thing that needs to be done with the parking mechanism before installing rear case..?
