Tip for drilling into metal... go slow with adequate force and keep the bit oiled.

Hi is this just an auto problem. Mrs has 1.6 petrol manual, and it has the hole but no bracket and looks like there has never been a bracket there.

yes I believe this only affects auto. the manual has different method of supporting the gearbox.
