Nissan Qashqai no passenger side temperature control

This 2014 Nissan Qashqai came in with a customer complaint of passenger side vents blowing cold when drivers side hot.
This was a nice easy fix, however one of the annoying things to me is that non of my aftermarket tools will communicate with the HVAC module, meaning I can't clear any stored faults. No big drama really but down the line someone else may hunt for a problem that doesn't exist, it's not what I would class as a full or neat repair.

Had exactly the same issue. Drivers side was either hot or cold as selected but passengers side was constantly warm. Temperature did not change when using the dial. Local garage suggested it could be a faulty module so £££'s plus labour of course. After watching this video I checked underneath the glove compartment and had exactly the same problem. Plug had simply come out, bit fiddly but after a few minutes is was back in and working perfectly. Didn't even have to remove the glove box. Thanks very much for sharing.

Guess what? I've got the exact same issue on the exact same model. When winter came I wanted to switch heater on but realised only one side was working. Took to the garage where we did a full service 6 months ago and they quoted more than 300 bucks!!! I've came across your video and find the exact same wire was hanging out disconnected You've saved me time and money and now I can enjoy the heater!!! Thank you so much!

I had exactly this problem appear in my wife’s 2011 Qashqai. I discovered the same plug was out, reconnected it, and was back in business in under ten minutes. I recon you saved me £££s in garage labour for what was actually an easy DIY fix once you know what to look for. Thanks! Ps. We had the pollen filter changed at a recent service. I bet it was knocked out/loose during the swap.

Had exactly the same problem so this must be a common fault. After watching your video removed trim, re connected plug and sorted. Great video and an easy fix. Many thanks.

you just saved me 500 dollars mate, you are amazing! mine was on the same side but on a car with left-side steering wheel. still, didnt have to remove any plastic, just had to pull the wire from inside as it was hidden at first- used a pencil. Thanks a lot!

Thanks so much mate, it’s when you’re putting the cover plate back on after you change the cabin filter you end up knocking the connection off.

Took me 1min to fix it , took a mid console lower plastic off and straight away noticed plug hanging same like in your case it clipped back in place firmly I appreciate your video quick fix thanks to your knowledge

Thank you for recording and posting this video…. Our Qashqai is 2008 and our dual control was hot on the left (really Hot🔥) and working fine on the driver side. Journeys had become a pain as too hot with the windows closed and to noisy at motorway speed to have the windows open… So found your video after poking and prodding around beforehand with no luck… Would you believe it: same plug was out. Plugged it in and it works!!! THANK YOU!!!

How do you get to this bit of the car as I can't see in my 2011 qashqai how to get to it unless it's screws?

On my 2008 Qashqai I slid the passenger seat back, remove a foam cover and that was enough room to lye upside down in the passenger seat with my head on the floor looking up below the glove box 😂 then looked for the same part you see in this ace video. So up above where the passengers right foot would be, on the side.
