My 2011 Altima had the same problem with the same code. After 2 visits to the dealership, they couldn't fix it. I cleaned the throttle body and it's fix!!! Thank you so much Eric. Keep up the good work!!!

This just happened to me at similar mileages. I'm on my last leg. No job, no money, just got done with an interview that is a strong possibility. Then my car dies. Now its back up. Just cleaned the throttle body and now its working. Thanks a ton. I owe you.

Thank you. I have a 2011 Altima that started throwing this code. I have cleaned sensor best I can. Changed air filter. Still get it. Comes and goes. Idle seems funny during slow movement as well. I will clean the throttle area as you did. Again, thank you.

Had my MAF and camshaft position sensor replaced on my 02 (2.5L), was not the issue, a lot of labor and parts in cost, the issue has returned. I personally am thinking more towards throttle body. This video is a very great perspective for this repair process regardless of year. It defines a simple code that is in relation to another component. Specifically related to Nissan vehicles, the code does not source the actual component issue. Great video.

GREAT VIDEO.. I WORKED ON A NISSAN ALTIMA 2016 52,000 MILES WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM ... BUT IT WAS THE MAF PROBLEM, CLEAN MAF WITH CRC MAF CLEANER AND BLOW DRY WITH COMPRESS AIR. AND I ALSO CLEAN THE AIR THROTTLE PLATE. ( BUTTERFLY) RELEARN CAME BACK TO IDLE SPEED AFTER DRIVEN ABOUT 25 MILES ON THE HIGHWAY. THANKS

Glad I could find your video, instant follower. Question for you: Do you think that this gunk you cleaned in the throttle was due to a design flaw of the EGR system? I read somewhere that this engine recirculates a small portion of the exhaust back into the manifold, and the input his is right after the MAF. Any thoughts? Should Al Sentra have this cleanse as a preventative maintenance?

I think you are well oriented and know what you are doing. I found your videos to be better than PHAD and SMA. SMA is ok but the constant jabbering about other people and talking about other things while NOT explaining the process puts you ahead of him. I like how you try and show every angle and do your best to explain things without all the drama. I am working on a 1999 Sentra right now with the 1.6L motor. Low compression on every cylinder. One of the best videos out there,most mechanics would have replaced the sensor, then put in a air filter,then a fuel filter,then a fuel pump.After that didn't work they would check the coils,the distributor ,then change the oil and filter.then change the catalytic converter,and finally the muffler and TELL THE CUSTOMER >>>>IT" MUST BE THE MUFFLER BEARINGS that's the ONLY thing left, but the parts dept is out of them right now,we had a lot of these models come in lately just like yours.

I have a sentra too. My issue with stalling came with a bad PCV valve. It was exactly the same issue. Vehicle would start and then shut off. No amount of cleaning the throttle body fixed the issue, even replacing camshaft and crankshaft sensors didn’t work. Replaced the MAF sensor too, still did the same thing - kept stalling. It’s the PCV valve, that’s your fix. Cleaning the throttle body is a temporary fix, you need a permanent fix. I am the owner of 2014 sentra, this car has put me through a wringer with its issues. The only easy part is that it’s cheaper to fix, never mind the other more expensive cars. I maintain it as much as I can, my wallet is almost empty, but it’s still breaking. I don’t know what is the problem, but I might have to dump it to scrap heap if this continues. The good news are is that it’s not burning oil currently, so I am good, at least for now. Will see what happens in the next 50000 miles.

Hi Eric, very nice video. Thank you. Just have one question, I have a 2015 Suzuki Alto RS Turbo with drive-by-wire throttle system. I have this idea to remove all the pipes of the throttle and clean the butterfly thingy with carb cleaner. If I do that, do I have to connect a scan tool and do that re-learn value thing? I got abit scared when i saw this video since i do not have a scan tool. Please advise.

Listen I have a 2013 Nissan Sentra and when I am driving it band reaches 40mph starts like accelerating and I feel that overdrive activates and the shift doesn’t goes through. At first a mechanic told me that it was a transmission issues and that it needs a new transmission but then two more mechanics told me that if it was a transmission issues that car would stop running long time ago. So a mechanic suggested me to check the transmission oil and I did and in fact the oil was dirty, so I changed the transmission oil and the filters but after I drove the car for 20 minutes the issues went away for a moment I meant the car was running ok; however, three days later it started doing bit again and oil was dirty again; what do you think the problem is? Do you think that I need to change the transmission? Hopefully you can give me a feedback. Thank you
