HONDA ACCORD NO CRANK DEAD BRICKED BCM KEY PROGRAM FIX

In today's video we take a look at a 2021 Honda Accord with a 4 cylinder engine. The owners complaint is that the vehicle is a no crank no start. They recently had a locksmith come out and try to program a brand new key from the dealership, however during the programming they managed to lock up the BCM and now it will no longer accept any keys. According to this Honda Service Bulletin static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/202... The BCM can become damaged when trying to use an aftermarket programmer to add a key. The fix for this would be to have the vehicle towed to a Honda dealer and pay to replace the BCM and program new keys. However, there is a work around that I have read about on several locksmith forums. They say that you can actually get the vehicle to start using a generated Xhorse Universal Smart key. For some reason even though the BCM will no longer accept OEM or aftermarket keys, it will accept an Xhorse smart key.

There's still an RFID chip in the handle of the key. The key will unlock the door and turn the ignition, but the engine will just crank without firing. Or your car might just be older.

Agree, its nice and simple, as in my 69 corvette, yet - not safe. Its easy to break into and steal a car with physical key, as well as key fob, the safest security system would be one using the rolling code ( it changes password of the key every time you use it) The key generates the password according to algorithm that spits out the code, and lock checks if it fits the algorithm. Its very hard to steal, yet there are a couple of ways...

Took me 4 hours but was able to add original key and an aftermarket key with the im608. Similar scenario customer try adding his own aftermarket key with a launch tool and bricked it. After many attepts with different options i was able to do ID register and reset and was able to add oem key then second key. 4 hours of pressing buttons.

@ADVANCEDLEVELAUTO got there at 6 pm and close to 10 pm was ready to leave when it worked. Tried multiple programmers more than once. Finally, the last attempt with im608 made it. The customer was really appreciative and paid me almost twice what I asked. My dedication and determination paid off at the end. We both left happy, and I gained a new customer and referrals for my hard work. 😁😁.

I've seen where someone uses the wrong frequency key, i think late 2000s to 2015-ish, will also brick the bcm. Way to go on expanding into keys. It's quite profitable.... & the dolphin key cutter is a great beneficial tool, so you can cut to emergency blades in the FOB. So much to know anymore. Saludos amigo 😊

I believe the autel stores the v.i.n. in a database from the car it hooks up to ,so they know what machine hooked up to which car .So if they start coming up stolen they know who the registered owner of the key tool is.

I just bought a 2021 Ford Transit, they only had 1 of the 4 keys/fobs that it originally came with, I ordered 2 from ebay, 30.00, took the keys to Ace, they charged me 8.00 each to do the side cut (or whatever it's called). Seeing how I needed a new ODB2 reader, I bought the Xtool IP819 for 325.00 and programmed both remotes, and wiped out the 3 that I did not get.

I’m a locksmith and do some auto work. Heard of this problem as well. But I always use the autopro pad. And never have had an issue. Talking with other locksmiths in my area. The autel tends to be the programmer that causes this problem. Use the auto pro pad. I’m convinced you won’t have a problem. I’ve done enough of them without issues

Personally I've yet to run into this issue with programming smart keys to Honda 2019 and up yet but I also stick to using XHorse for doing the vehicle key programming. There's no mention in the XHorse protocols about using an older or newer system. It just over-rides the start button and gets into the programming. Who knows, maybe it has changed since the last time I used it. XHorse is coming out with Honda style boards if you want to make it look professional. I like an OEM look.

try being in a "clueless dealership" situation. had a Mitsubishi with a "five things people throw away when getting rid of a car™" situation (in this case, it's the 'every key but the one being actively used' version), in which only the *valet key* survived changing hands. the SUV developed a jammed hatch situation (old age wiring problem), but had a keyhole for the hatch just in case. and as we all know, a Valet key only works in the ignition and door locks, nowhere else. had my parents call a local dealership to attempt to get a new key from the VIN, and they were so used to keyfob editions that they did not properly check the package to see if it even HAD a fob type. the model, a base, doesn't even have running lights, let alone a reciever of any kind. the vehicle had been demoted to Farm Truck for obvious reasons, and can't even be used for THAT.
