Robin Larsson, Kris Meeke, Andreas Bakkerud, Travis Pastrana, Oliver Eriksson, Niclas Gronholm, Fraser McConnell and Ole Christian Veiby face off in the first ever Group E final. 8 cars on the historic Lydden Hill track featuring nitro modifications was pure chaos.

This race was already much better than I expected. For a brand new series, Group E already looks great. Can't wait to see these things go over those ridiculous jumps in the States. Also hoping for more drivers to join later in the year 🤞🏽

Is group E the only type of vehicle class we will see this year at nitro rx or will there also be a group for combustion vehicles?

There were five categories racing at Lydden this past weekend: Group E, the usual RX Supercars, NRX Next (RX lites), Crosskarts, and historics. All rounds will have at the very least Group E, Supercars, and NRX Next.

I wish the battery packs were swappable. The storylines about pit crews and battery pack charging techniques would create a lot of interest. Too expensive? If the 1-season battery holds up, I guess so.

Swappable batteries are doable with quick connect and inserts, i dont know how they would go about it but it would be sick to see them do cross country races or long endurances like that

They need to remove more insulation from the wheel arches so you can hear the engines, now that we finally got some okay-sounding electric vehicles we want to hear them!

Loving these monsters on the track. Raw skill only. They sound like angry banshees screaming their way around the circuit. Did I see them hit 170 on the straight? 😳

What a great opportunity to AMP UP the squeeling tires! I like hearing the tires shredding under full throttle--ahem, full pedal. Fun pedal. Go Switch? And more burnouts please. Squeal like piggy tires! Yeah, louder tires, especially when drifting.

I cannot say that those new electric cars are cool. Their start is nice, but after that you can tell that they are very heavy, they need to break very early, they are not drifting almost at all and their jumps are short

This highlights to me how much of the enjoyment and entertainment of racing comes from sound. How can you get excited in the same way about these glorified milk-floats? Even remote-control racers make a better noise

I wouldnt say overall off road, but in RX absolutly, currently EV tech couldnt last for a whole rally/dakar/baja but instant torque is perfect for small 5min sessions in the meantime

Why do you want slower cars ? Combustion engine cannot win against an electric motor.

@@MrChadwickingtonz i'm not against electric, but why do you think slower is less interesting/entertaining ? A fiesta cup race can be more entertaining than F1 bc the cars stay more together so there is more action going on.
