This is bolony. If oxygen and other gasses escape from the tire exept nitrogen. When you fill the tire over and over again. Tire will only contain N2 after certain period of time. So you don't have to fill the tire with nitrogen. You just fill the tire with normal air like 5 times over the time.

what if you fill your air tank when the humidity is very low and use an air dryer to bring the water content to near zero? Would N2 have zero advantage over very dry air?
@curiouscat84573 жыл бұрын
Not significant. There would be negligible advantages of N2 more or less of an academic value. 1) Les weight 2) Les pressure loss by membrane diffusion 3) Less corrosion 4) More fire safety All the benefits due to absence of oxygen - and repeating again: would be hard to prove it practice.

@@curiouscat8457 its a scam mate, my neighbor got nitrogen filled tyres and they charged him 5 dollars per tyre... they even did the spare. What id like to know is if pure nitrogen is so great then what process do they use to get all the old air out of the tyre? Truth is they can't... so instead of having a mix of 80% nitrogen and 20% oxygen you'll probably end up with 95% nitrogen and 5% oxygen... and for 5 dollars a tyre??? Ill stick to air and save my money, especially when in 3 months times i top the air up at a gas station and dilute the mixture even more... an absolute scam.

@@tims001 Absolutely. I didn't say it as directly as you have, but you can read it between the lines :-).

The difference between the sizes of nitrogen molecules and oxygen molecules is 3%. Three Percent!! So you are replacing the remaining 17 percent oxygen with molecules that are three percent bigger, and you are going to notice a difference?!
