NitroPlanes has a Brushless edition of the A-10. I decided to mount their "GumPack" Video camera on board for the maiden flight. Here is what happened.
This A-10 has these statistics.
Length 872 MM
Wingspan: 968 MM
Weight: 450 Gram
Battery: 11.1V, 1.5 Amp Lipo
Radio: 72 MHz, Channel
ESC: 2, 20 Amp GLs
Pretty impressive performance with great handling, even in the wind.
Missing a small wood piece, was basically all that I found wrong and that was an easy thing to make.
I'm not crazy about the radio on 72 Mhz, but all in all this plane looks nice and flies nicely for me.
The 18 Gram Camera is totally cool. Very small, it had a 2Gig card with it and was easy to mount and operate in the bright daylight. You can see for yourself how the video came out. I was and still am very impressed with this tiny camera.

That, Sir, was a gutsy and neat landing of an RC plane! Fine peace. Allways loved the A-10. One can see the inherent manouverabillity in this little model. quite a handfull it seems... Thanks for the review.

Awesome video Dave! One of your best by far! I LOVE the look achieved with the little camera. It totally looked like green screen SFX from some low rate movie. I mean that is a good way! Awesome!!! I can't wait to see a front view.

The A-10 is my favorite plane because it is direct support for ground troops. There aren't many bad guys that want to argue with a 30mm avenger cannon. Alot of times just the sight of this bad boy sends 'em packin'. The A-10 might not be fast and sexy like a F-16 or F-18 but that just adds to its badassery. Awesome landing! Thanks for the videos.

I can handle flying is a some wind but not that much. You are the man! I have been wanting an A-10 forever but really didn't want the hassle of buying the older brushed version and upgrading. I think this A-10 is definitely on the shopping list. As always, great video. 5 stars

Hello Dave. I had the same jet for a while and loved its flying characteristics. I moved up now to the bigger 64mm one now. Gotta give it to ya, very nice flying considering the hurricane you are flying in and the nice crosswind landing.

I bought this plane as my first 4 channel plane back before they had the brushless motor option. The thing could barely get off the ground and I was lucky to get one lap around the football feild with the battery that was included. I wish that I would have bought the same one as you got here

That is a really neat plane and one I think I will add to my list of things to buy. I loved the sound of the engines at 7:50 it reminded me of Darth Vaders Tie fighter in Star Wars :D Did you test fly it without the camera before you added it? I was just thinking that if you didn't and it adopted some awful flight characteristic and crashed then your review would be ambiguous as we would not know if it was the plane or the additional weight / drag / turbulence of the camera that caused it.

This has always been one of my favorite planes. They used to fly over all the time here in Sacramento, Ca until they closed both bases :( I realllllllly want to fly.. I haven't been able to all summer...Maybe sometime before the weather changes I will go and buy a new plane.

Hey Dave, I just purchased one of these A-10's from nitroplanes and was wondering if you ever tested the waterproofness of them. It is the very first RC plane i've ever purchased, and i own a large pond, so i figure if i can learn with water launches/landings it'd be easier than pavement :) Pls let me know if they work well on water! thanks!

one of my ESC's burned out on 3rd flight, resulting in a crash. I have had some experience with many planes from NP and BH, all of which have lasted 5 flights or less before either a motor, esc, or servo failed resulting it the plane crashing.

Hello Dave. I know this is an old video and you may have forgot but could you please tell me the CG on this A-10 with the stock setup. I just got this today from Nitroplanes and would like to get it set close so I don't crash it. The instructions do not mention anything about the CG. Thanks. Love to watch you and Jeff fly.

Great video Dave. I have the same jet and I would highly advise AGAINST taking off from water lol.... I also tried it this past summer and it didn't go so well. 5/5

@PrOfLiGhT11 Hey. Everyone learns at their own speed. You will know when you can progress. To start you should begin with a 3ch high wing trainer like the HobbyZone Super Cub LP or even a micro like the HobbyZone Champ or Parkzone J-3 Cub micro. From there, once you are comfortable, you can progress to a 4ch plane like the Parkzone Trojan T-28 or E-flite Appreantice.

Wow, this would be an excellent video if the guy had waited for a less windy day. The wind obscures his voice and tossed the plane all over the sky. I think this would be a really good aircraft for a beginner like me since it's cheap, durable, easy to assemble and seems to fly well, I guess. It's hard to tell from all the wind. This guy is an experienced pilot landing with a 30 degree crab and setting it down in almost a spread arms distance. A nice day would show off the plane's characteristics rather than the pilot's.

Ya, it ended in disaster when I tried it. Otherwise its not a half bad little jet. I enjoy tearing around with it now and then and it slows down real nice for landings in zero wind conditions. It has some good glide characteristics as well I found.
