It is well known that FuelTech USA offers access to one of the most effective tools for testing vehicles to help solve problems and maximize a combination before hitting the race track. The in-house Mainline Hub Dyno is rated to over 5,000 WHP and it is capable of simulating drag strip runs thanks to advanced dyno software and hub-loading capabilities. The hub dyno eliminates variables like the always-changing track surface and atmospheric conditions. In this video FuelTech’s Cameron Lohrmann walks through the dyno testing process and explains the high level of customer service that is available to all FuelTech users.
Jermaine Bigalow is no stranger to testing on the FuelTech USA Mainline Hub Dyno with his No Time/Grudge Mustang and its Reher Morrison big-block. The displacement has been kept top secret, however the six stages of nitrous oxide can’t be hidden and are in plain view. Previously, the FuelTech team worked with Bigalow to create baseline tune-ups. He came back to diagnosis a few minor problems and to extract more power from the impressive powerplant, showing that EFI isn’t just a set-it and forget it racecar system. And while we cannot reveal those results, let’s just say that you’re going to need more than a punched out 454 big-block Chevy to run with this thing.
Nitrous powered racecars benefit greatly from running a FuelTech PowerFT engine management system, including the top-of-the-line FT600 that controls Bigalow’s ride. The reason FuelTech is so popular and successful is because of the significant amount of features built into each system and the exceptional customer service that comes standard. All FuelTech PowerFT ECUs-FT600, FT550, FT550LITE, and FT450-offer sequential injection and ignition, O2 closed loop, Data Logger, Delay Box, Traction Control, Boost Controller, and too many more options to list.
The PRO-Nitrous controls have proven to be a game-changer in the intense nitrous-powered door car wars in sanctioned and No Time/Grudge worlds, giving ultimate control over the nitrous system (or systems), fuel enrichment, and timing functions. That will come in handy, as Bigalow will be facing some fast cars in both boosted and nitrous formats and always on small tires. The FT600, FT550, and FT450 ECUs also double up as a digital dashboard with TFT touchscreen; allowing the user to change the tuning parameters on the fly without the need to hook up to a PC or laptop.
The colorful Fox Mustang utilizes eight FuelTech WB-O2 Nanos, which are connected to the FT600 via CAN and doesn’t require the use of an analog input. A FuelTech SwitchPanel-8 offers additional CAN connections for expanded inputs and its primary function is to be an easy-to-use control pad for various functions. In fact, the data logging capabilities doesn’t stop with the WB-O2 Nanos, the PowerFT line of engine management systems come with accelerometer, gyroscope, and the ability to connect any sensor via CAN connection. The information is displayed with the engine and power management data, allowing the tuner to use only the FTManager software when analyzing the information. It streamlines the process for easy and quick changes for the next run.

There was no collaboration. Them boys paid for Fueltech to tune the vehicle. That is it. 1100whp is nothing compared to the real cars that show up.

I hate to say it! It still doesn’t sound 100%? Did you guys check for vacuum leaks & proper butterfly sync? Anybody actually put a degree wheel on it to make sure camshaft wasn’t off? Those sometimes move, I would imagine you did! We’re the rockers checked to see if they were all opening the same? Every time I had anything sound lazy, it was normally out of time somewhere! Just didn’t sound crisp like your other nitrous videos? Nice Job 👍🏻 as usual! If the owner doesn’t know how to work on those huge engines, he really should send it back to Reher & have them go thru it properly! Would it be possible to close the throttle and just run 100% on the nitrous and fuel without any air? In fact given the nitrous is pressurised could you achieve some positive manifold pressure (with the throttle closed)? Also what would stop you mixing some pure oxygen in with the nitrous?

Would depend on your progressive controller... A " spray and pray" against a opponent who has the upper hand might lead you to set your progressive controller at a duty cycle of (1). The controller will tell you that's exactly what's happening, the nitrous solenoid is on 100 percent of the time.

When u are doing a motor tune on a nitrous engine do u use the same plug and plug gap as u would if spraying it

With that motor, plug gap leads to plug wetting and becomes a problem very quick. If fuel gets into the plug gap without igniting properly it is very difficult to ignite. Proper gap and air fuel ratio is key... Hence why there running several af monitors

For a strictly motor tune with no plan of running nitrous yes you’d change your plug gap and maybe even go to a hotter plug. Although most nitrous guys won’t run a motor tune because a nitrous motor is built for nitrous not NA.

8 AF modules is rediculous. Its 2021 what are u guys doing with that. Whos watching that?

8 AF so you don’t lean out a cylinder, it’s data logged so after each run they’ll run through the data. You can watch the cylinder start dropping from say debris on the screen or the nozzle is plugged. It’ll let you know before you burn it down.

@@RadDadisRad I know this...but whyyyyy do they need 8 actual modules..mounted to a board...thats stupid...single module logging all 8 and sends info to main ecu
