Im literally smiling at your comment, alittle shocked but not suprised at how deep the connection between the diaspora really is. That invisible umbilical cord that connects us all. Im from Trinidad btw located in the caribbean and i believe unification among the FAMILY in the diaspora is necessary and eminent regardless of geographical birth and location. I also happen to believe that our unification is more powerful than an atomic bomb (Elijah Muhammad). But anyway peace family.

Poem from the intro: I woke up in a wilderness today. A place my mind could not remember but my soul already knew. No longer searching for a steady breeze. There is soil on my skin and salt water in my blood. A descendant of god. I feel as if I am sunshine with a pulse. I bare my fertile flower from which humanity originates. Rivers of milk flow from me, and I watch as entire kingdoms bow. All the children are here, barefoot in the morning, and the dirt is rich with many treasures. Vamos a la playa. You are free to transcend. You are free to be creature. And you Are free to bend. Couldn't find it anywhere online so I thought I would share it!!

You are not a real Indigenous Person from Turtle Island aka America. Black People born in America are the Real True Native Americans Indigenous People from America. Your ancestors stole our birthright and identity and benefit from it today. The Great Creator Spirit will come back and restore the birthright that He gave us and that your people stole. The true face of indigenous people are not the mongoloid, asian, mexican, white, spaniards mix that we see today. You are a fraud raised to think you are the truth.

Taylor Marché We’re part of a renaissance that’s taking place. More and more women are feeling the call of the awakening and the energy of The Mother. It’s time for sisterhood to replace tearing each other down and competing with one another. A world full of women lifting each other up in love and respect sends a powerful message that we are strong and united. That’s a level of energy that can not be ignored or denied. Love and light to all my beautiful sisters 🌛🌝🌜

This song always gets me because the background kids are singing in my mother’s language Cibemba from Zambia the southern part of Africa. This breaks all the ideas the colonialist would have taught people in the south that we where never taken as slaves.I feel deeply connected to this song my grandad taught me so much, and learning about the negras of Brazil and how they spoke some of our southern languages fascinating Cz the white man taught us a history separate from what really happened. The kids are literally saying “Ndelolela ba yahweh- i am waiting on my God

You said everything that I was thinking. I wish we could have another surge of neo soul and artists that embrace our African culture and being natural. We NEED that in the industry cuz it's absent right now. Yea, we still got people like Jill Scott, Bilal, and Queen Badu..... But they are unfortunately past their prime and don't get much radio play anymore. (Damn shame) We need people to pass the torch on to, that will keep it burning. We got a few. Sza, SIR, Iman Omari, but that's about it. Maybe a few more, but not many. I need the genre to gain popularity and AirPlay, like it was in the late 90's/early 2000's. It was a strong movement at tnat time. The dismantle of Soulquarians was a very hard hit for us, and something I ish never happened. Imagine the quality of music we would've gotten. If ur not familiar, look them up. They are responsible for Mama's gun, Like water for chocolate, Voodoo, etc. Lord only knows the masterpieces we would've gotten if they continued working together.

It symbolizes and represents original indigenous culture and the culture of hip-hop at its foundation. PEACE to this female MC who, in my opinion, cements her status as a Queen/Goddess with this video. Having seen a inkling of this type of work since the nineties. Her skill and rap are real tight and inspiring and the video is a wonderfull bow to indigenous culture. Still, I don't feel this Queen/Goddess thing (not only) you are talking about. Someone being a Queen or a King or a God or a Goddess always implies somebody else being inferior. Which is the root of inequity and inequality. Or can we all be Queens and Kings? I would love to hear your/other opinions on that ;)

Yudah El wtf are you on, learn some history and geography about the world, you’ll find the evidence African American ancestry is from Africa via the Caribbean, elmina castle was the dispatch point in Ghana for slaves, the slaves that were taken to the America’s were always slaves even in Africa and came from a long line of slave tradition so if your of the black diaspora and then the likelihood is that your ancestors have always been slaves way before the Europeans invaded Africa, it’s just how it works, like the British royal family ancestry has always been royal and they will always be royal, you get your Lott in life and African Americans just happen to come from a long line of slaves dating back before Jesus. FACTS

This is just amazing for a mountain of different reasons! I’m an curious to what someone was thinking to possibly have hit the dislike button. You don’t have to understand the history it to know this is something GREAT. Nor do you have to be Latin or African to appreciate it. My family is from the Balkans and I’m a native New Yorker. My sons are Puerto Rican and I FEEL this! Maybe its through association and being raised among so many different cultures. Music is the only real universal language that can connect us all!

I respect you. not to belabor the point but how is her dad being an American AND Black African different from her mom being Puerto Rican And Black African, by the way PR is also American, unless you're saying her mom has no African blood. I didn't imply that you weren't proud. I'm just stating that it's strange to have someone say oh she's white and white French ... in other words what does the country have to do with race? Is she African squared?

Hello Shay you make a valid point. But the thing is being puerto rican and I've never seen or experienced racial issues within my culture not to say it doesn't exist. As far as I know we just see us as what we are puerto ricans.
