NIU Sidestand fix

The side-stand can be a major annoyance at least - if not a dangerous source of disaster!
It’s placed a bit low and angled out too far, so chances are high it will touch ground in a sharp left turn - sparks flying, you rear wheel might be lifted. A “good” start for a crash!
But with some simple tools and a steady hand you can fix that in half an hour.

Hab's gemacht war zwar ein wenig Arbeit, hat aber funktioniert. Man muss nur aufpassen das man nicht zu viel weg nimmt sonst startet der Motor nicht mehr!

i ll take off the side stand too its not good when u take a sharp left turn and i heard that sensor gives also error.

That's correct. After all these years my sensor went the way of the Dodo. So I /could/ easily drive having the side-stand out 😱 Sadly the switch isn't really cheap nor easy to replace.

I personally never scraped the sidestand until now on my N1S - got a lot of other issues though. Had it for 3 months now and it has been at the dealer for 5 weeks in total - another visit is planned when all spare parts arrive… I thought a lot about returning the whole scooter

They optimized the sidestand angle since the 2019 models. But if you cross the "sissy mark" in a corner, you *will* see sparks flying ;)

@@my_niu even on gts with 14 inch wheels it can hit the ground.i never like side stands.

@@dokesz530 They're useful for a quick 'pit stop' but when they're just slapped onto a frame without much engineering thinking then, yes, I don't like them either.

@@my_niu was wondering if you knew how to fix the sidestand, my niu will not start due to the sidestand captor

@@BoualavongP There's a switch inside the side-panel checking if the side-stand is moved in. So either this swich is not pressed in, defect or there's an issue with the cable from the switch to the ECU.

Did anyone now how to make the limiter turn off? My n1s ins drives 45 - 48 kmh and I want faster

"the limiter" is the firmware/controller. The only currently known way to make it faster is using a 2nd controller in parallel. Read more about it here: www.myniu.org/making-the-n1s-faster/

myniu gibt's da keine einfache Möglichkeit wie bei den ebikes? Einfach einen Code eingeben und alles ist frei

To keep this 'international' I'll keep answering in english... Theoretically it would be possible to 'software tune' the N1s, but there are many 'ifs': * If one's able to get ahold of a firmware binary * if someone's able to disassemble and reverse engineer its functionality * if someone's able to create a programmer and * if someone's able to analyze the communication of the programmer with the controller (RS422 probably) The eBike unlocking mostly bases on flashing firmwares meant for other countries which have a higher speed-limit (i.e. USA).

I See a Video Form China ,and the Scooter goes 64 kmh whith the same engine without controllerlimit ,but it need a Software Form niu !
