I've only seen Narrow Mouthed Toads once when I was flipping some cardboard in a field in Valdosta Georgia, I found 2 together and they were about an inch and half, one was grayish, the other kind of brick reddish both had a light stripe down the middle of the back, a very thin yellowish white stripe, I was very excited about it because I am from California originally and at that point I hadn't had a chance to do much herping outside the west coast, the Valdosta area was great with everything from huge eastern Diamondbacks to Gators and Gopher Tortoises to Green Anoles and Moccasins plus so much more that were lifers for me at the time, I was 20 years old at the time in 1978!!!

Always a pleassure see subocs. For now in Nuevo León Mexico we’re dry and the activity compared to 2021 is lower. Although we’re more toxicology interested, the field videos are amazing to show people how is the experience of herping, pretty nice channel and videos. We had the fortune of see 2 alternas in Coahuila-Nuevo León borders in some field work we did in 2021

i wish i grew up in a place with snakes. the chance you will find one her is very small. and only one species. there are 3 but the other 2 are only found in certain area's and very rare. sadly

Here in Pennsylvania.. I find most of the rat snake and racers near over grown fields next to woodland. If there's water nearby.. you'll find a bigger variety of snakes. Also.. most of them were under tin. Old roofing tin that is! You definitely live in a very good reptile state.

Best advice is watch all his videos on GA and mimic the conditions and structure locations of where he's successful. For newer herp lovers that's the easiest is to mimic but don't forget how little experience you have early on... and don't rush, or ever bother or touch venomous ever without extensive training, and perfect conditions. Don't ever risk yourself when just looking guarantees your safety. Do these things until you gain more knowledge and experience and you'll love enjoying this long life full of beautiful scale babies!!

Nice microhylids, rat snakes, rattlesnakes and this giant crown snake. Also the horned lizards are adorable. We want more of them. The environment is visibly different with a lot of rocky outcrops. It seems that ambush predators like rattlesnakes like this environment.

Up here in Nashville TN, our snakes like to hide well. The most common ones we see is water snakes, rat snakes, and copper heads, mostly water and rat snakes. I've only seen 5 water moccasins my whole life here and little more than a handful of copper heads. But the rarest I've seen so far are black racers, I've only seen 2 my whole life here. That and supposedly timber rattle snakes but I haven't seen one yet. I guess I'm not lucky enough to find them.

Trans-Pecos Ratsnakes never bite. Found 26 on the river road in one night. It was a full moon they taste bad and owls do not eat them. The moon set and the road came alive with kangaroo rats, hundreds of them. None would sit still for a photograph.

I am in Colorado. I went to go into my shed this am, rattlesnake!!!!!!!!!! Can't get it out. Not sure if you are interested, possibly coming this way? Don't want to tell anyone as they will likely kill it after getting it out. Any suggestions? I have no idea how it could have gotten in, can barely open the door. If I leave the door cracked do you think it will just come back out? I am not a skilled herper!!!! I asked it nicely to leave, no dice! Thanks from a lady in rattlesnake heaven ????
