Benefits of Playing Chess:
- Promotes brain growth
- Increases problem-solving skills
- It exercises both sides of the brain
- Raises your IQ
- Sparks your creativity
- Teaches planning and foresight
- Teaches patience and concentration
- Optimizes memory improvement
- Improves recovery from stroke or disability
- Helps treat ADHD
Chess is an intellectual battle where players are exposed to numerous mental processes such as analysis, attention to detail, synthesis, concentration, planning and foresight. Psychological factors are also present on and off the board; playing Chess stimulates our imagination and creativity. Every single move a player makes is the result of a deep analysis based on the elements presented on the battlefield.
Chess in its essence teaches us psychological, sociological and even moral values. In a Chess game, both players start with the same amount of material and time. The fact that the white pieces move first is considered to be practically irrelevant -especially because a player typically plays one game as white and one game as black. Consequently, the final result of the battle solely depends on each player. It doesn’t matter if you win by taking advantage of your opponent’s mistakes or by simply avoiding mistakes yourself. Truth is that Chess is an extremely individual sport and our defeats can only be blamed on ourselves and no one else. And this, in the end, only benefits us because we learn to be and feel responsible for our actions and never come up with excuses to justify ourselves.
We also learn that when it comes to our victories on the board, our opponent's mistakes play a more significant role than our own skills. Let’s not forget that a Chess game without any mistakes would be a draw. This way, Chess provides us with another valuable life lesson: be humble at all times.

The last example demonstrates that promoting to a Queen is not always the best answer. Learning every lesson. Terrific content again.! Many Thanks.

Hey Coach Rob... here's 2 idea's for you: 1) wondering if you can organize the puzzles by elo rating? I basically found 3 of them to be impossible and 2 were relatively straight forward. 2) give an example of your full 5 min process to help get us warmed up. Even the straight forward one's there were moves by the opponent I didn't calculate.

That last one is going to make me consider a knight promotion as a possibility anytime I get a chance to promote... super gangsta..

1:11 1.K-d4 secures c5 for the bishop. Black king must retreat to protect his pawn. That relieves the pressure on the b5P. 1.----B×P+ will be met with 4.B×P and the king will shepherd the b pawn home.

Saludo caballero! Muy bueno ese video 🙏. La verdad últimamente no estoy estudiando o jugando ajedrez frecuentemente ☹️. Muchas gracias por el video. Por videos como estos es que si estudio de vez en cuando. Yo estudiar solo se me hace difícil.

There's a cute little trick in #4: 1. h6 Bg8 2. Bd5+ Ka1 3. Bxg8 Nf6 and white needs to avoid h8=Q?? stalemate. h8=R wins quite handily.

At 6:33 why does not black go pawn f5? I could not find this one. Difficult level is still a bit high for me here. I looked at this line but though it did not work because black could play f5.. ok white can take this pawn with knight.. but it opens for the bishop and it does not get trapped. H pawn is ready to run, and when bishop go to h4 or g5, it will take white lots of moves before he can 7nterpose the bishop with knight for instance on e7.. it need protection from the king from like d6 right?! Ahh Nf5 is a fork, my gad.. tricky.
