I’m a longshoreman for 5 years but just joined the union a month ago and I just feel sad when people say longshoremen are over paid labourers and make to much money!! Tell that to my fellow union member that ran his own brother over in a top lift and killed him!! This job is very dangerous and with the high turnover rate of new workers as not everyone can lift a 15ft 50lb bar 80 times or more a shift. Safety has come a long way but production is still king in the industry. LSPU Ila global power

So easy to have happen..... Either the dock or over the side and into the water.... Have lost control of a 3 High Bar a couple of times.
