The central park show was the first time I saw John and you. I remember the big mirror above. I think John had a wireless hookup for his guitar. It was the first time I saw something like that also. Thanks for bringing back that memory!

This idea of Judgement (13:50); very powerful concept. I look at judgement (and especially self judgement) as a negative, sometimes cynical thing, that has the effect of constriction, opposite of the nature of the universe, which is expansion. I make the distinction to my students between JUDGEMENT and EVALUATION. Judgement is observing an event, say, it’s raining outside, and adding on to it, “It’s raining outside, and RAIN SUCKS! I HATE rain, it’s going to RUIN my entire day!” Evaluation is observing the event, impartially, and course correcting if needed. “My tempo was off tonight, I couldn’t get in the pocket”. Evaluation. “I SUCK AT THIS!” Judgement. “My tempo was off. “How can I correct it, or make it better next time.” Important distinction.
