I've said this before, knew of Narada when I lived in Kalamazoo, But I knew Preston when he lived in Santa Barbara and played in a band with his brother Allen in a band called Summit, they where a fun dance band back in the 80's. He was writing songs then for that band.

Its hard to believe in todays world that this music actually happened. How did they reach such heights, is it still possible for example how did promise of a fisherman actually happen, how could apocalypse actually happen or visions...it seems inconceivable now

Finally! I grew up listening to and seeing the Five Stairsteps. I actually experienced what Keni Burke related about his father playing the bass at their stage shows because they performed in Cleveland, Ohio regularly. I also remember Keni playing the "Tighten Up" baseline on a bass that was as big as he was at the time. We were going crazy because he was killing it! Lastly, it was great to hear the background story on how the " 2nd Resurrection" album came to be. Definitely a stand alone classic! RIP Clarence Burke jr.

On god keni is the unsung bass goat. All night is one of the hardest songs gs I’ve ever tried to nail. It’s so obscenely fast and tight. Man is a master and I’m hard pressed to find more technical chops in the game.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for giving one of the most underrated, and unappreciated bassists, musicians, songwriters, and producers on the planet a platform!!!! Larry Graham mentioned Keni as one of HIS FAVORITE BASS PLAYERS!!!! Despite his amazing discography, Keni's name is barely mentioned when discussing great bassists!!! Yeah, the bass line on "Rising to the Top" is one of the COLDEST BASS GROOVES IN HISTORY!!! I love the song that Keni played on The Ramsey "Routes" project!!! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/kLOBrderms_UlX0.html What a FANTASTIC INTERVIEW!!!

Thats wonderful! Describing Omar as "Smooth" really hits the nail on the head. Its been bugging me since I first heard him when he first appeared in Weather Report, and "Smooth" says it all. I often think. that Omar is probably the most well-rounded drummer around. A REAL pro..

Dance of Life guitar blowed my mind over decades since 80s. Took me many many many years to know the band and guitar player in the home recorded cassette my brother's friend gave me, in return of other I lent him but loose. 2nd or third internet generation brought me the light 😃😃😃

I used to see Omar on the F train and Q4A bus. I was born in 59 too. Lenny White's parents lived around the corner from me. Omar's younger brother Qabid was a great bassist. He passed not long ago.

Dear Narada! What a great interview, what a great meeting between two musicians like you who have had so much experience! I am 68 years old, I am French, and a drummer, composer and scat singer in my spare time, I have accompanied the organist RHODA SCOTT, and musicians like Etienne M'Bappe, Guy N'Sangue and many others.. .a long time ago you and I had two friends in common! Two men who led the Sri Chinmoy movement in Paris and owned a store on Boulevard Saint Germain... While I listened to your albums, they often spoke to me about you! I love your drumming but also your albums as a singer! always inspired...I also know your foundation, you are a caring man, full of love and humanism...As for Peter Erskine, I attended three Step ahead concerts at the Nice festival, and I also saw him with Weather Report in Paris... I love his style too! You are one of my inspirational drummers! like Billy Cobham, Omar Hakim Ton Williams Steve Jordan, Harvey Mason etc...In the 80s I recorded 400 scores! from the best drummers in the world of different styles, from the old years to the more "fusion" drummers, I taught drums in a conservatory (I have 5 prizes in classical percussion and drums) and now I am retired but I still play a little and above all I compose music in different styles... Bravo for this video dear Narada Michael Walden, all my deep... and long friendship to you. from >>>kzfaq.infohFKdry-KnQA?feature=share I composed a song in hommage to ELON MUSC >>>kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g-B9jcyK3MvHlo0.html / I'M LOOKING FOR A PRODUCTION FOR THIS PIECE! an other solo drums >>>>>AFRICAN LIBERATION >>>kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l81mp5lq3Li3ZmQ.html >>>facebook.com/didier.dagostino/?locale=br_FR
