Excellent video of the most famous Rover 42 in the country. Very enjoyable little chat with the good Captain Mustard.

Yes, he summarised the situation with this particular car and the channel quite well.

I haven't driven a Rover 25 for a long time but all the Mustard, Boaty, Lloyd and Furious Driving content has put me in the mood to have a wee shotty of one again. Love Mustard's reasoning for Project Nigel

Captain Mustard certainly has various interesting things to say about the reasons why he still owns this car... Thank you again for watching, sir!

It looked a fun drive! I like the multicoloured panels a lot!! It's a very appealing vehicle and saved from the scrapyard. Well done to the Captain 😊

Yes, I don't find these cars particularly comfortable on longer journeys, but they are good fun for shorter ones.

What a lovely little look at a unique little car. I think you're spot on with your description of how they handle. My 200 feels like a little rocket and thats only a 1.6 version.

The R3 200/ZR/25/Streetwise does have a very good chassis indeed, even if I have never got very well with the driving position in them. Strangely, that is not a problem I have ever had with any of the R8s, which share the same front structure...
@SmashingPistons16 күн бұрын
@@lloydvehicleconsulting it is an odd one. They all feel like the gear stick is too low down to me, but then I'm used to the Civic where the lever is high up. (not the 'on the dash' one)

Do you mean the MB Civic sir (the one based on the HH-R Rover 400)?

@@lloydvehicleconsulting No, the 2013 era one I have as a daily. Lovely driving position, but for some reason the speedo is obscured by the steering wheel for me.

Hi Joseph what a fun little car and quite a story with captain mustard my dad had a 1965 Rover P5 3 litre wondful car and my uncle Joe had a P4 Rover 80 with suicide doors both great cars much loved back then best regards Andy Allen.

Yes, Captain Mustard is an amusing chap. I have previously had a P4, P5 and P6 on the channel, and I have owned nine Rovers in total myself, so I know them quite well. The P4 was a bit tricky to drive.

If you have a look on the Sensible Secondhand Classics playlist, you will find reviews of the P4, P5 and P6. The P4 and P6 are actually owned by the same person.

The BMW Steptronic CVT gearboxes are utterly superb. They deliver better performance and economy, and the six speed sequential shifting option gives the ultimate spirited driving experience. Yes, in order to ensure longevity they need to be serviced correctly, but that’s just good ownership.
