Hello, all! Today I wanted to share with you a card that I made while I was out of town at a crafting retreat. I watercolored images from Waffle Flower's Always stamp set using Distress Inks.

Beautiful painting, as always. I can't wait to get this stamp set. This love that is coming through her expression captures perfectly how I feel about all animals. Not advocating taking animals from the wild. Just saying that they all deserve love and protection. Sweet, sweet card.

I vote for how your did it!!! That stamp is such a example of wrapping up the bird with love and I am sure it resting on her hair was just delightful! If I owned the stamp I would paint it exactly the same way!!!

I find something so soothing watching you water color paint or coloring with copic. I study how you shade and mix the colors. Love it. You do such great crafting.

I love your bird! We always notice our own imperfections, and more often than not, don’t see the ones in others’ work. She just looks like a tiny petite bird (seems like something we all aspire to be - ‘petite’). 😁. Your work is exquisite - as always! Love how you did the hair...and all the shading.

I love the brown bellied bird!!! Lovely coloring as usual Kristina! I think you’re right, the Distress ink may have a chemical reaction with the Ink on 3 fadeout. You’re amazingly talented, and thanks for sharing your time & talent with us, Blessings & Hugs!!!

I love watching you watercolor. So soothing. Inspires me to dabble in it when stamping. ❤ I know you said not to comment on the bird, but I don't notice it much on the final cars even knowing. I think someone that is so lucky to receive this card would be so enamoured with the shading and painting that they at most they might spot the belly and wonder. But, to someone who doesn't know, it isn't definitively a belly. In fact, it has a weird line for being the belly.

I would love to see a zoom out of you water coloring to learn when you dip your brush in paint, water or dab at a rag. I always have too much water or paint...can't seem to get it right.

In spite of all your qualms about the paper and bleeding etc...I feel this is so beautiful and you were on the top of your game and she is just lovely to look at....I hope you do this again and again with some changes in colors etc....I just love this...it is beautiful. Oh, Kristina, I think the entire piece turned out so beautifully. When I saw this image released I was bit intimidated by the hair, so I appreciate seeing how you watercolored it. Appreciate you sharing your honest opinion out the ink, I'll be interested to see hownyou like it with Copics. Thanks for sharing how you made this gorgeous card!

It's really Beautiful Kristina and to tell you the truth, "No it doesn't bother me at all when I look at the birds belly" I think it could be either or. Either a fat bird or a skinny bird😊🥰❤❣ I think it's Stunning. Matter of fact I'm going to see if they still have the Stamp Set, because I'm going to buy it😊😊🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰❤❣

That little girl with her birdie is the sweetest image. I think it turned out beautifully as all your pieces do. I think that is the Brown Belly Love Bird she is holding.

Well I did NOT notice that coloring mishap until you brought it up. And my eyes are NOT drawn to that area. Lol🤣 I'm just in aww of all the detail. Incredible painting, her hair is phenomenal. Just wanted you to know. I love it! It's remarkable ❤❤❤

This is gorgeous Kristina and as for the bird, I still think it looks like her hair! LOL Actually I think it looks better as her hair as it looks like it would make the bird misshapen if it were his belly. Just my thoughts. Either way, I love it. Also, when I get together to craft with friends, we almost never get anything made. LOL We catch up and eat...

First, colorful birds can have grown bellies. I never would've noticed. ☺ Second, I was drawn to this tutorial because of the "jagged" edges. It looks cool, imo.

Thank you for this! I just got this set, sat down to no Line watercolor it, and it looks crap. Turned to YT and lo and behold my favorite watercolorist has a video! I’ll try again with distressed oxides, instead of watercolors. I used antique linen for the stamping but my skills at watercolor leave much to be desired.

I love the no-line coloring look. I need that superfine brush. I’ve had mine too long and it definitely doesn’t make fine lines like yours!

I would have painted that as her hair too. The bird even without the belly bit still looks in proportion so it’s all good! So interesting to hear your thoughts on the ink Kristina. I loved watching you paint and even though you thought it looked as if it bled slightly, i think it looks wonderful. Great card ❤️

Specifically speaking, Fabriano has had issues with their hot press! It’s been about two years since the problems started. I know quite a few professional watercolor artists whom have had to stop using it because it did more than just the issues you experienced and that not using inks. Hopefully one day Fabriano figures out what the change is but it’s been some time now and they still claim they didn’t change anything. I’d suggest trying a different hotpress. I can’t seem to find this ink and justify paying for shipping to buy just one thing. I really loved your color selection and cross my fingers that every time you upload a video it’s a no line watercolor video...hint hint! I’ve been on holiday and playing catch up and see you were too. Hope your time in Bermuda was amazing! You look great and take care!
