Unenforceable policy that they didn't notify any sellers about. I'm sure it'll have a big impact. (not) I'll continue including my marketing materials until I'm directly told to stop.

Seconding this, I ran out of fliers a while back, but I intend to get more. Restricting this seems bizarre given that they provide Pro websites. Clearly, they're fine with competing websites existing; they give them out. They're just picky about how those websites are promoted. As someone who doesn't plan to have a social media presence for my store anytime soon, that pretty much removes all of my options for promoting the website that they CHARGE me for. Why give anyone websites in the first place?

With tcgplayer envelopes being a huge flop I’m not going to change anything. Handcuffing sellers then trying to make us swim in their ecosystem isn’t going to help them or us in the long run

@TCGBulkKings This is ridiculous.... glad I'm only selling on eBay, but since eBay owns TCG player, it worries me that they would try to implement this on eBay as well.

Apparently this has already been eBay policy for a while, but it is really difficult to enforce, for sure

@@TCGBulkKings Luckily there's no way for them to enforce it, and that they don't even try.

This is absurd. If I work to figure out the methods of conditioning, storage, shipping, customer service, etc- and I am able to build good reputation with customers by doing those things, (which take a lot of work!) then why can't I include my own custom slips to inform customers about my store/buylist? What's the harm in it? I'm paying for AND designing my tiny business fliers anyway... I really don't see how it meaningfully harms them, but it is immediately apparent how it harms us. I can't even put a QR code on a slip that links to my website with this regulation. Bad policy.

Especially because I am paying the Pro Fee to access the website that they provide to me! Is my engagement for this site supposed to strictly be through social media, and not known customers? That's completely backwards. The end result is the same; they (potentially) get less business if I promote something that they're encouraging me to promote! Why give sellers pro websites if they feel this way? The combination of branding material and pro websites could not be a more perfect fit...

Last reply, I just read the blog post from Shipping Shield. According to them and their conversation with a TCGP rep, it is acceptable to use branding material for your Pro website. Much more understandable, and gives a way for people who don't want to break the rules (everyone, I assume) an option.

I been off shipping shields for a while now .. sence I bought a case of 1800 and they were just a bit thicker then they had been In the past so usps started saying my letters were to ridged and wanted me to pay packaged fees
@TCGBulkKings22 күн бұрын
I haven't run into that problem with mine, usually when USPS does this it's some human deciding something rather than actually not meeting regulations. But Shipping Shields aren't the only way to go, for sure, just one among many correct solutions
@PokePelago24 күн бұрын
It’s unfortunate, but it makes sense. Like, a printing store wouldn’t want you making posters advertising their competition. It works the same way I guess

Yeah, I get it. It does make the large audience on TCGplayer a little less desirable to sell to, if we aren't allowed to market to them
@bad_dreams234624 күн бұрын
Only thing im saying, its going to be awful hard and probably pricy to determine when these shields in question were purchased. I have 15 million already in inventory 😅. 😑 prove me wrong.

So no more promoting my OnlyFans through TCGplayer sales? Damn. All jokes aside, does branding count as marketing?

In the article he explains that TCGplayer told him that brands/logos are okay, as long as there aren't any kind of websites, qr codes, or calls to action to go anywhere but to TCGplayer

This is the official policy yes, I haven't heard of anyone saying they've seen repercussions from this policy yet though. I'm not sure how they'd enforce it unless there was clear evidence of someone successfully siphoning off large numbers of customers. Not sure how they'd measure that either though
