On Twitter Oxbow Animal Health said that they are out of stock at the moment due to supply shipping delays! But that they are trying to get it back out ASAP! 😁 Thank you for the reminder Scotty about how important Vitamin C is for our piggies!

We contacted them directly and they told us the same thing. I guess we just have to be patient and work on feeding good sources of fresh veg and fruits high in vit. C.

We finally just got some back in by me yesterday. (Wisconsin) I had to special order Critical care through a local pet store thankfully they got it in pretty quickly and I grabbed an extra just in case to have it.

Hi Scotty, I am in Chicago. The local exotic pet store informed me today that Oxbow stopped producing these tablets three months ago! Thank you for the tip and using liquid with snacks. Only one of my three piggies Will accept syringe. This will help me with my other two girls!

The white packets are the larger bag of the Vitamin C cookies. Those are the ones I usually order, for the one piggie who won't take the liquid. Also, my vet recommended 2.5 ml of the liquid vitamin C if a piggie is sick.

Freddie Mercury never wanted to eat the cookies so we took your recommendation to switch to the child life vit c a couple months ago. I have the cookies in our disaster bag, since we live in tornado alley. 😊

Thank you Scotty! I appreciate you & Saskia so much! We have 3 girls & a neutered male we rescued and it has been a challenge to get them the cookies lately. I am going to order the Life Vit C liquid & take your advice of using the syringe. I think that will also help with taming them as they are extremely “hand shy.” ❤️

The Oxbow shortages are insane! I still can’t get 8lb bags of Garden Select from Petsmart. The shortage seems to be letting up now a little cause I was able to get 4lb bags. I didn’t know that about Vitamin C! Yes it’s all about balance. 😊 I quit giving the vitamin C cookies a while back and when I feel they need extra on top of the peppers & various veggies they get per day, I use the Child Life Vitamin C too. They LOVE it! The Healthy Snackers are a favorite too! That’s brilliant putting the liquid vitamin C on the Healthy Snacker!

Yes, Chewy is out of stock My local Pet Food express is out of all Oxbow supplemental cooking’s I usually get GI support and urinary support and also joint support

Yup here in Massachusetts! Can not find them anywhere!! I too found the 3rd Party White Bag sold by Monster Pets. I do give the liquid to my Senior Girl however I like the cookies because when she bites the cage while I'm putting away her laundered bedding I give her one to keep her busy. If anyone finds a New Vit C Cookie? Please let us know here

I just read on a comment that someone feeds their piggies cauliflower, which can cause gassy bowels and bloat. Please read Scottys care guide, everyone, there's so much good info there!! I don't always like being dependant on certain things from online shopping, my experience of supply and demand can vary alot, especially with hay. But we don't always have a choice for our pets. Great video, thanks, Scotty 😊❤

I use both but yes I’ve been having trouble finding the vitamin c tabs. I give one of my girls 1 cc of the liquid everyday. She doesn’t get veggies everyday as she gets bloated easily.

My Nini (Annick Nannerel) is a strange one. She will not touch the Oxbow supplements. But her late brother and sister loved them. She is on 3-4 meds as an older GP and only the promise of a piece of Green Leaf lettuce will help get her to finish. Her daily breakfast is a cube of English Cucumber, 1 piece of red pepper and 1 piece of green pepper. Critical Care is a problem because I have to get the old fashioned Anise flavor because I have anaphylaxis to apples (Epi-pens central). I do not like the fine ground CC.

It's not recommended to do that because they get used to that flavor & then would refuse plain water. It's Not a good thing for them not to have water.

Amazon and all the local pet stores here have been out of the oxbow vitamin c cookies. Fortunately we do also use the childlife vitamin c. Unfortunately our outfits will get tired of one so we have to switch things. What are your thoughts on the Kaytee brand vitamin c cookes?

Isn’t fresh dandelion leaves, fresh spinach, courgette, carrots etc enough? One of mine recently had a very serious operation and recovered fine very quickly, vet reckoned he was in really good shape. ?

I’ve stopped giving my piggies these cookies. They should be getting enough vitamin C from their vegetables. They really liked them just as a treat so I’ve just been getting treats from SPS :) MY pigs also hate the child life vitamin C. And honestly I hate the smell of it LOLL

I have a Amazon subscription to get two bags of Oxbow Timothy/Orchard hay from Amazon and thankfully that I do because if I try to buy just a bag outside of my subscription I’m unable to buy it by I am still getting my 2 bags every 2 weeks, I hope that doesn’t change, what is going on with Amazon and Oxbow?

That's half the point. You will get better at it and they will get better at taking it. Otherwise when it comes to giving them medicine that they need to survive it won't be a struggle anymore

Gosh, reading these comments I didn’t realize I might need to be supplementing with C. My girls get a lot of fresh vegg all day every day, I was thinking/hoping that was a sufficient source of C for them. Guess I’ll get some tabs when they’re back in stock.

Don't worry, my piggies are fine with fresh veggies too. Sweet pepper, some salads, cowli flower... there is a lot of vitamin c in so many veggies 😉

@@eintopfanni9687 take a look at Scottys care guide, the link is on the info bar. Not to judge, but please be careful feeding cauliflower as it can make your piggies gassy and can cause bloat. Cauliflower comes under brassica vegetables, such as broccoli, Brussels sprouts and cabbage. 😊
