Lost my wife unexpectedly to cancer 2 years ago. I played "No one but you", "I'll follow you into the Dark and "Beyond the Shards" as she was breathing her last. They seemed to capture the essence of our relationship. I'd played them for her before, but the lyrics seemed to say what I was feeling at the time. I still play them in the middle of the night when I wake up missing her. Keeps me from eating a bullet so far.

Someone found this on her Facebook page it was posted May 1 2016: "Okay guys, I think it's time to go ahead and update you guys on what's been going on with me: I have developed a muscle tremor of sorts in my singing voice. (chest voice in particular) It's something I've been struggling with for over a year, but it has become very bad these last months. The doctor suspects my thyroid is the culprit, but really isn't sure. I have also been working with a vocal coach to see if some strengthening exercises have any effect - sadly no change in the tremor. I have been despairing that this might be the end of my career as a singer. I have been writing many songs and recording a new instrumental album, but it is just not the same as singing. I promise I will keep trying to beat this problem! Please wish me luck."

Dear Kate, thanks for this beautiful song. Our lovely son Lucas died through an tragic car accident last Sunday (12.02.12). He was only 20 years old. Your song was played during the funeral. We felt it was the right song to transport our emotions & sadness. Your song described the nature of our lovely son in that moment. Dear Kate ! some years ago , i was a member of a church , one of the pastors grand daughter had and has in my opinion a voice that is almost a perfect match to yours , she no longer sings much or done any thing on you tube , i would say a blessing came unto me as i listen to your stunning awesome voice , No one but you and Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen are now the 2 songs as my all time favorites . i thank you for sharing in this incredible journey , for you are the talented, gifted one !!!!

Incredible song. By every tune, every sound, every word, you feel the emotion of this song. No song ever touched me so much like this one kate. You're one of the world's best for creating emotional songs, or better: songs that create real emotions in you. Whenever i get my first money from a job i will look forward to your album. I discovered you by accident or by divine intervention....I am 72 and have heard soo0 much music in my lifetime, from classical to rock to new wave....but " No one like you" is so touching and inspirational, it must be about Jesus Christ....I see THE Star shining n the sky over on the left. Since I discovered your song yesterday, I have played at least 20+ times, and have sent it to so many people..I am looking forward to the CD I purchased yesterday. You are wonderful

This song popped into my head earlier today at work, and I couldn't help but come back and listen to it again. I listen to your FFIX covers almost daily, so I tend to forget how wonderful your other works are, and for once I'm very glad that my mind decided to pull the proverbial 'stick a song in your head on endless repeat' card earlier today. Hi there! Actually, I do! My friend, Moises Nieto (HollowRiku) has arranged beautiful piano accompaniments to all the songs from my Raindancer album. This is absolutely my favorite thing I have ever heard from you. I was absolutely entranced by it--it was like touching the threshold of Heaven (I get really into music). My heart is still pounding and my hands are still shaking. You are one of the few outside of Verdi or Mozart who have had this effect on me. Definitely better than your covers, and your covers are pure joy.

To me, the song is an audio of the feelings I sometimes have. There's a side of myself that I can't let out, even when I want to. And that side is like another world, that I can't access. It's hard to describe, and the music you play makes me feel more in touch with it, more in control of it. Like there's a guiding light.

I was looking around youtube and suddenly bumped into this and realized "Oh, a song from Kate I haven't heard yet". I opened the link and read the description. "Her own song? Can't wait" I started the song and was great work! Then suddenly I when I heard the chorus start Everything blackened and next I realized that it had ended and I was crying. I replayed it and now I've been here for almost an hour listening just this before I was able to do anything else and now I'm writing comment. Amazing!
