The Trooper was really good to this impatient mount. I noted that the Trooper was using the mild Snaffle bit and totally loose was the curb bit. De-escalating the pressures on the horse's mouth.

Well spotted, one handed rein control, no use feet. Horse was sending a signal with his front feet. Guard would not allow horse to leave hais post until he was under control. Very important for horse to know the guard was in control.

Horse's maximum frustration level...and rising. It' s heading to the back door, clearly because it wants to go back to the stable and imo in this case it was bothered by all people there.

I wholeheartedly agree ref the distress of the horses. This daily circus should be abandoned! There is more than enough to see and do in London without putting these beautiful, sensitive, animals through this daily nonsense. ‘Respect’ is often quoted on this channel, well how about extending a little more to Dobbin?

The horses are always beautifully turned out and in superb condition. It is a shame they then have to stand still and be touched and gauped at by such a crowd daily.

That horse was angry and the guard did not notice the rein over the eye..Still,carelessly people got close to the horse ..Who will be responsible when a horse injures a STUPID TOURIST?

Can't people recognize the horse has discomfort some where and try to find out the problem and do something to help instead of ignoring the situation ? Those horses needs to be checked out right away when they start showing signs of discomfort . The guard just sits there like a knot on a log not paying attention to his or hers horse and try to do something themselives to find out the problem of their horse and do something to relieve the horse 's discomfort

How would the guard help. He would have to dismount and they have certain procedures. He may have already pushed the button for assistance. All those people around the horse is a definite aggravation for the horse.

@@StandingStillStuff how do you know, you only saw what 3 or 4 minutes in a video. When they push the button they don’t get instant response. Secondly he’s holding a sword in one hand and the reins in the other, he can’t remove the rein. It took the other soldier several attempts to flip it over.

I love these horses. No matter how well they have been trained, for them to have to stand still for 2hrs at a time, with a man sitting on his back and have to put up with the noise from the tourists, alot of whom have no respect for what they do, along with the usual street sounds must be extremely difficult and very frustrating. ❤

They are only there for 1 hour and that is what they are trained to do .But some times they have a bad day the same as we do .

The right hand rein was over the horses head ,the mounted guard did not notice or was unable to solve the problem . The army chap on foot ,saw & sorted the reins as soon as he approached the horse . ***( Bridget .O Stand corrected ,deleted inexperienced )***c.k.

The army chap was there to fix it. There are no "inexperienced" mounted guards . He has protocol. He has a sword in one hand and the other in control of the horse. He cant break protocol to attend to the rein however much he wants to. It is not a "normal" situation!

This horse is probably having heel pain and he is communicating the way a horse does. His knotting is showing distress.

Why do they sometimes throw the stirrups over the saddle and sometimes not? Loosening the girth would be a better thing to do at this time.

2 hours. Are you kidding. I was angry at it lasting an hour. Now i heard i hour one half hour now 2 hours with someone on your back. If these horses do this every dzy there life is not great.

He can, he is not allowed to sort it. If you have watched other videos you will have heard the guards asking the other guard could he fix the reins.

What building/complex are they guarding? I haven't seen any identifying signage. And does anyone know if the horses have more regular exercise than going back and forth between the stables and their duty positions?

Yes, they get daily exercise every morning. And they get a seaside vacation every year with the guards. Where they are allowed to play in the surf. I can't recall the name of the island, maybe someone else knows.

Thank you for the information. I did not recognize it from this vantage point. And I'm relieved to hear about the exercise. It would have been a poor life if not for that. I can't imagine how they put up with the rudeness they and their riders must endure from visitors.

The bit is not fitting properly in the horses mouth his reins are not aligned. Dis mount the horse and make the proper corrections. He is showing the barn sour attitude, he wants to go back to his stall

The guard let the rein slip over the horses ear, touching it's eye. If the soldier spent less time chatting with the armed police he could have sorted it out before the horse became distressed!
