9:32 About this, I'm Spanish and went on a schoolyear-end trip to some countries in Europe (Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium) some years ago. I was really surprised to see there were little to no free public restrooms, many cities didn't have much water fountains (made me really upset, especially in Belgium) and trash containers were really scarce (funnily, cities were quite cleaner than Spanish ones lmao).
@lucabralia5125

In Italy I have seen quite a few public restrooms, the ones where you have to pay are usually in big city centres and are used as touris traps, maybe it's the same in those other countries
@tuub1281

The reason you have to pay in most places is to help cover cleaning costs. It really helped keeping the toilets clean and i definitely take a public restroom that charges me 50 cents over one that is free.

That we're made of German blood is in the first line of the Dutch Anthem. Some people think it's weird, some even hate it. Since WO2 many people see it as an insult, but what it means is that the Netherlands came out of Germany and therefore we are a Germanic race. So yeah.. that's what we have going on with it, but the rest is still very patriotic though.
@JD-ml4io
@JD-ml4io 2 жыл бұрын
Well its not about west and east germany at all. Firstly the German anthem is way older than the post ww2 situation. Its first roots are in the austrian Kaiserhymne from 1796. The Einigkeit (engl. unity) part you may think of is based on the german small states before the first german unification of 1871, that happend after the german french war.

6:11 As a Québécois, I can explain. Before the 1960, the Catholic Church used to have incredible powers in Québec, and the government was basically the church’s puppet. So there was growing resentment among the new generations. People began to use the name of holy objets (but modified a little) as a swear word! This is why in Québec we swear (even today), using holy words!

About the Quebec swear words thing: it’s only a swear word if you pronounce it wrong lol. Tabernacle is the object. Tabarnak is the swear word. We also swear all the time in casual situations so really, you’d have to be trying really hard to offend us using those. You have a higher chance of being unalived by calling us Canadians lol
