The philippine typhoon joke is actually true one time we got hit by 2 typhoons at once and the next week we got hit by another typhoon And if its just a regular typhoon and not a strong one like Yolanda and the other one I forgot the name of it we just cannot fish.

Translation to English for foreigners: "MAMA! ARE THERE [ANY] NOODLES?*" *Pancit isn't like East Asian noodles. I mean, the noodles themselves are practically the same, but the dish has way less broth. Sometimes it's just noodles with seasoning and some toppings, but usually there's a small amount of broth, usually made of soy sauce and vinegar or something. We do have noodle dishes that have a lot of broth like in East Asia, but they're just called noodles or whatever specific dish they are instead of pancit.
