I dont get it. he shot the monkey dude without hesitation, making him plumetting down from airship. he survived but most likely he would die. Or only overly dramatic moments do count?

In that case it was to protect someone. I think Ogata is mainly referring to killing in cold blood here.

Ogata has this bizarre mentality where he simultaneously believes himself to be different than others but also believes they must fundementally be as twisted or self centered as he is. When hes confronted with the reality that people can be different, or that people can be empathic or have mercy, he rejects it out right. Not only mentally, but physically as well. He's kinda joker like in that way but i dunno, the way its played is so grounded for me that it actually reminds me of someone I know rather than just a character.

True, but it turn out that he was lying lol. He thought he will die but he missed death.

it's also significant that Asirpa shot him in the eye (like how he killed Yuusaku) with poison (like how he killed his mom) so in a way, the type of killing he did to the most innocent lives he took have come back upon him. and also, if Asirpa is paralleled with Yuusaku, then Ogata and Sugimoto are each other's foils. when Yuusaku tried to care about Ogata, Ogata violently rejected him. but when Asirpa tries to care about Sugimoto, Sugimoto accepts and reciprocates. as a result, Sugimoto gets better, and Ogata gets worse. and it all has to do with the way these two innocent people remind the soldiers of the way they lived before the war. Yuusaku reminds Ogata of all the loss and lack he experienced, which led him to become a soldier in order to harm his father somehow. Asirpa reminds Sugimoto of how he was as a civilian, back when he knew peace, and all that he gave up when he became a soldier. Sugimoto wants his peace back, but Ogata basically became addicted to war because he felt well suited to it. but really, he's watching Sugimoto and Asirpa forge a type of relationship that he could've had with Yuusaku, if he hadn't murdered him.

One thing I really like about season 3 is that the presentation has improved by a huge amount, both in sound and animation/art. Really impressed by how better it's gotten and hope season 4 continues the trend

it amazes how this show gets better each season in every aspect. not many shows can boast about that.

Yeah, imagine if it had the budget and animation to be truly incredible. Too bad it's kinda niche and won't get the treatment it deserves :(

Yes it's not as known in the west, but they aren't animating for nothing so I assume it's decently big in the east. But I agree, definitely needs more popularity, but not some... toxic ones.

Archer Stagnys to me the show is really good but people need to now about it like on the anime karma pools it gets near to the end every time because it is not well known I mean I wouldn’t even have known about it if I didnt watch the anime man

Rather than underrated unseen in comparison to those at the top, but most people that watch it agree that it is at least in the very good category, but I think that just judging for the number of views in this clips and the comments in it, it might had gained some more audience this season; for my part this season I convinced two friends to see the series and I am trying to do the same with another one, the increase in audience, if truly there is such thing, might due similar circumstance, people giving it possitive word of mouth among their social circle. Regardless of that even since season the audience must had been solid to get a quick second season that very same year and a third one this season.

Not that many people know the series in comparison and I guess that damn horrid CGI bear in the very beginning of the show must had had an adverse effect on some who blindly gave the series a chance back in season 1.

@@g.sergiusfidenas6650 Yeah, I saw a lot of people saying they just stopped watching after episode one because of the CGI bear. I always found it stupid, especially since it wasn't even that bad.

@@Drakon_Minaka it was bad, really awful looking CGI but it's their loss for not being able to stomach that one defect in a story that has such a promising start, how can an ugly bear make them quit an anime that starts with a WWI style battle and a badass MC in a setting that is rarely seen in other series, puzzling thought process right there.

Kenjiro Tsuda is a neat voice actor, and both characters are great. Only that Nanamin is a good person, and Ogata... is Ogata

Also, Joker in Fire Force, Mifune- Soul Eater, Overhaul- My Hero Academia, Kei Matoba- Cop Craft, Atomic Samurai- One Punch Man, K.K- Dimension W. He's is in alot more but these are the more mainstream I think. He also voiced Vesta in That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime.
