No one sells more Kia Sonets than me

You better believe it! I think I sell more Kia Sonet's than any salesperson at a Kia dealership. Ok that is a lie, but I do recommend it ALL. OF. THE. TIME. Surely I should be getting some form of commission?
After driving this 1.0 Turbo Sonet model I am reminded about how flipping good it is. It is certainly still the best in the segment. If I were to choose anything that comes close to or matches it, it would be the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro and that's because both cars offer so much value for money. You already know my mom owns a Sonet, that should give you a good idea of how much faith I have in this compact SUVs. Gooooooo Kia!

Headlights are the only issue for me. They didn't bring the external lighting package to SA and for no reason. People do drive cars at night too, so we want the pleasure of driving at night to not be compromised by the lack of safety measures

I do not know what headlamps they are using, but they are impeccable. You do not need the LEDs. I did a night drive between Cape Town and the Eastern Cape in my Sonet and it was immense. You get plenty of crisp light, especially with your fog lamps on too. You also have a rear fog lamp. Way better compared to my previous Polo during night drives.

The Sonet should be a real contender for car of the year in my books. I bought the 1.5EX Auto in May and it has been a joy to drive and own so far. And I think it looks really good to.

My Sonet 1.5 manual is getting 5.9 per 100km. It was 7 liters per 100 km when I got it at launch day but it just gets better for some reason. The roads are the same to work and back etc. This car is just amazeballs

Been driving my Sonet ex manual from launch date. Fuel consumption just got beter. Im currently sitting on 6.3 liters per 100. Sam e as my picanto. What puzzles me is no auto driver seat electric. Both my picantos had it. For a r 300 k car idd expect auto electric driver side. Other than that the car is perfect. Yeah its more pricy to the nissan, renault, suzuki......its the quality feel you get the moment you get behind the wheel......

Regarding the electric windows, is there no second detent on the switch? The manual mentions that pressing or pulling up the power window switch momentarily to the second detent position completely lowers or raises the window even when the switch is released. To stop the window at the desired position while the window is in operation, pull up or press down and release the switch.

I had a few complaints. The rear seats. Folding them down is a pain without a friend. I'm not a long person, this is near impossible. Second, I don't know what it is about driving this thing in the dark, but the lights aren't the brightest. Lastly, as mentioned, the windows... ya. Oh and hill start assist is only available on Ex+. What the heck? Why? It's alright otherwise. Looks unique. Works well, fuel economy is not bad honestly. Same as my fiesta pretty much. Also Kia is pretty solid maintenance wise

Bought mine exactly 1 year ago. Unfortunately I lost in a motor vehicle collision. Heartbroken. Thee crash happened while driving 29kmh. The thing blew both airbags and written off. Heartbroken. Too many sensors.

Juliet - have just subscribed to your channel...and you really are 'Top Notch'...I watch loads of car reviews and more often than not I doze off before they end - but your reviews keep me entertained from beginning to end...singing, dancing, swearing, critisizing, praising, joking, and more swearing...and then telling us all I need to know about the car, and that Joburg accent is just great ! Okay a lot of the car models are not available to us here in the UK... but who cares, to me - you are the best motoring journalist bar none ...so who needs Jeremy Clarkson? Keep it going girl !

Stock is still a big problem, they sell the cars but can't deliver of confirm when stock will be available. So no Kia is a problem

We just bought 2x 1.5CVT i still find that more refined then a DCT, the CVT is silk smooth, and only simulates 8gear changes when you floor it, or put it in manual mode. Regarding stock issues, our dealer here will be getting two more in next week.

@@shaun_wp7281 hi we ordered a 1.0 auto for gran but Kia can't even tell us when the car will arrive or even if stock is available. Apparently a shipment is arriving in October but for some reason they can't tell us on a manifest if there is a car. Service is crap. We are now considered cancelling the deal and go with a brand that can deliver.

Juliet the KIA SONET is 89 KW and 172 NM of torque the VW T - CROSS is 85 kw and 200NM of Torque i like the shape of both cars what do you think?

What's the difference between the a naturally aspirated engine and a turbo engine and which one is better??

The turbo feels better going uphills and pulling off. It's a bit punchy. The naturally aspirated is alright, but if you load the car a bit, you will have to change gears to get up hills. Long term, naturally aspirated is better as there is no turbo to maintain. That being said the gap in reliability is much better between turbo and naturally aspirated. So pick what you prefer. Just remember some companies have been doing the 1.0l turbo thing much longer, so there is more data for them than other manufacturers.

Good Review, but it does not come with enough, No led headlights, no split folding rear seats, the dual clutch that will be a nightmare to maintain after 100 000km, the fuel consumption is not great but that could just be that its a new car. and the middle seat belt is not good, R390 000 is too much for the options not included. you could get much better value elsewhere. Yes the warranty is good, but does it cover the transmission? and I assume to keep the warranty you have to keep the vehicle serviced with an authorized Kia dealer for the full 5 years at every interval. other than paying almost R8000 a month for this vehicle.

I on the other hand specifically bought this car because it DONT have led lamps, you do know that if one of them do fail you need to replace the entire lamp, at abougt 10-15k. Yes warranty do cover them but the inconvenience with booking in to look, and again to fit part. Regarding DCT, warranty will cover it, BUT not wear and tear items like the clutch packs, thats my reason for buying 2x Sonet 1.5EX CVTs the best cvt ive ever driven, it can acually pretend its a normal auto, mimmiks 8gears. Its great and silk smooth and quite and averages 16km/L. We will just be using these as city and town driving cars I find this very nice to my liking, but everyones taste differs hey 🤪

Went to kia to buy a new car 2 days ago. Absolutely no 2020's available. No 2023's of soul or sportage. No dealer in all South Florida has anything in stock. Very disappointing. Used ones are going for more than their original price.

Watching from Au thinking 'Wah da eff is a Kia Sonet?' I think South Africa is the only English speaking country that gets these makes and models targeted for India, Indonesia, South Africa, Vietnam, Middle East, and Latin America.
