Jules, what you completely fail to mention is that to spec a VW or Audi up to what the Chinese offer as standard adds another R100k to the price. When so many new cars are being brought in from China (Ford, etc) and Toyota is keeping market share by selling Suzuki, is that car buyers are looking at 3-5yr buying cycles. A decontented RAV4 starts at R700k. A bare-bones Tiguan at R640k... the old-guard are screwing customers to the mex.

I think its over priced, less features is never justification for higher pricing. Toyota cross, Haval Jolion, cherry tiggo 4 are probably in its segment not a haval h6 'let's conpare apples to apples'

Great car until you need to have the clutch`s replaced in that dual clutch transmission, then you probably looking at around 50k+ in repair costs! Then also look at the costs of CV joints, on my wife`s 2012 Kia Picanto 1,2EX the quote was over 12K just for the left hand side outer CV!

The dashboard is very nice, much better than the Jaecoo.Thanks for showing it. Isn't the 1.5T engine not thirsty, like with the Chinese brands?

Hi Juliet, So here goes: 2012 Toyota Fortuner 3L d4d 4x4. I pay almost R1700 per month. However, I do excess waiver. I went on the Hippo website and while very cheap alternatives are available, I was gently reminded that the quotations while vary according to risk profile etc. In my experience, the figure quoted is significantly cheaper largely due to higher excess amounts, making the offer seem attractive.

This upgrade has moved my focus from Sportage to Seltos, in particular the 1.5 EX+ Diesel. The value offering is worth the "size sacrifice". This new spec is so well put together and has everything that is needed. Compared to the Chinese competitors, which have every bell and whistle, I prefer the styling and build quality of the Kia. The Chinese cars seem to save you money on the purchase price, but will cost you more at the fuel pump and resale value. This really is a top quality offering in this sector of the market.
@lesediseemela98562 күн бұрын
Resale value is theory that applies when you actually don’t want to keep the car. Cars don’t have value anyways.

My ideal Seltos will be blue with a black roof, a little nudge bar at the front, a tow bar at the back, and with a diesel engine 😀 ... Round of applause to KIA for offering such beautiful cars, I'm not sure whether a new design team was hired or the old one just upped their game😂👏 ...This thing, just like the Spotage, it looks stunning 😍 ...I would still pick the Toyota Rav 4 Hybrid over anything 😅... 26 years of age and my license only 2 years old, the lowest offer I got in this very same car with my details is R2230, which I think is crazy😂😂😂

So honest info please, I read that the problem with Haval jolions are reliability for a start, alot of gearboxes and engine issues early on, but the real problem is accountability from Haval SA, which means if you do run into problems you are on your own so to speak. Any haval owners that have dealt with haval sa? How is the trade in value?
@capone38434 күн бұрын
It is a little OTT. But on its own, not compared to any other brand/model, it's unbeatable, price, features, warranty. If quality is an issue, they aren't going to last long as it will destroy the 2nd hand market......but do feel the Chery brand has passed that mark! Wonder if that sunroof takes 5 pushes of a button to open it full like my tiggo 8 🙄. Chinese are taking over....hopefully there's no 8 year old in sweat shops making parts . I just don't know how they can do it....for half the price. A third 🧐 maybe... My 1st Tiggo 8 1.6 had Chinese voodoo in that motor I tell you. The performance was unreal. Now on the max, and again, brilliant. The LSD putting foot going out of corners 🙌🏼. Superboss worthy!

Who is buying a car for 20 years these days, if you are stick to Toyota or something like that but these cars are not targeted at those people. Younger people have different needs and these cars speak to those needs. I've noticed majority of the people who are hell bent on discrediting the Chinese brands are either older people who are stuck in their ways or young people who don't know how to think for themselves and make decisions for themselves.

Awesome video...I am watching this again after watching your sons Jaecoo 7 that featured you (not the other way around) 🙂, I have narrowed down my search to these two and wanted to try and get a sense of which you would prefer. I'm now wondering whether the deciding factor is that the Jaecoo 7 needs the touchscreen for everything and the Tiggo 7 Pro Max needs it for some things as I see some buttons dashboard.

Okay I'm in the UK so maybe its a bit different but the rivals aren't really cheaper here. I have three kids aged 6 and under and basically with normal car seats there is no other car we can have except a 7 seater which eats boot space. I love my c5 and the car seat thing isn't an issue, if you're really struggling get a group 0-1 swivel car seat that you can swivel to face you and put the kid in, then from age 4 and upwards they can climb in themselves and you just need to do the belts. For holidays we easily stick roof bars and a roof box on the top and jobs a goodun. If the car is hot as soon as we go in we whack on AC max and then sort out the apple play after. Maybe it's different because I need three car seats along the back, but even if you have two it's one of the only cars where an adult can easily sit inbetween. Honestly I love it and just swapping the one I've had for 4 years for the newer hyrbid version.

I think you need more time with the vehicle. You're review is how most feel for the first time.... Theres a lot of shortcuts including voice activation for the heated seats, aircon, navigation.... The features are brilliant and luxury. Love the vehicle, wouldn't change it. Also, quality wise, everything comes from china now days... A lot of your old well known brands included.
@julietmcguire7 күн бұрын
I admit do admit in the video that I need more time with a car, but I know one thing for sure, the voice activation almost made me drive it off a cliff. Which is the case with most voice activation systems in any brand. I just want an old school button!

Your "so called" Dominant/Legacy Brands were once called Jap Crap etc... times change so should preconceived ideas!!!. fact is they are overpriced. In 5 years time our motor industry is going to look a look a whole lot different and the Chinese brands will be the reason. Mahindra is now well established and the 4th best selling bakkie in the market....go figure! Some of these chinese brands has been selling in China for decades and are some of the biggest brands in the world.
