No Photogrammetry Or Bing Maps Bug

There seems to be a bug within the sim right now that's affecting a number of people were no photogrammetry data or bing maps aerial data is loading in in many areas of the globe.
I believe this is a server side issue so if you're having this issue too then it may be that we all just need to wait for Microsoft and Asobo to fix the issue their end.

You’re the only KZfaqr talking about this issue. Thanks for that. Perhaps, you could remake the video explaining how to import photogrammetry from google maps for dummies 😆. Perfect timing for using that alternative.

I have had the issue around London so far. It started with the July update. With the patches MS has pushed out since then, the issue has gotten better, I see more of the photogrammetry data but still missing some in certain sections.

Hi! is there a way to cut google map addon with msfs2020 sdk? I can't find how to remove the texture of the imported google map water, to leave the game's one visible. thanks!!

I've tried all the suggested fixes out there and no luck. Very frustrating problem, but nothing to do but wait for a fix. Wonder why it only affects certain PCs though, even from the same location.

Yeah hopefully this will help people not go through the pain of a full reinstall trying to get maps to work :) we're just going to have to wait for it to be fixed server side I think :(

This is still a problem for me. All Ground textures look like playdough. I’m getting so pissed.

I have massive problems with the water textures in the United States Maps. I live in Germany. only in US cities I have ugly water textures (rectangles, green water i.e.). How can I solve it ?

I have the same dilemma as well. Add icing to the cake, stuttering take off and landings because of the fluctuating frame rate. It even does it after I purged my community folder and dropping the gfx to the lowest setting. I'm no rocket scientist, but I feel with all of these updates being rolled out in a fairly fast succession, it's only going to get worse. I understand MSFS is very demanding because of the worldwide textures and with the console version rolled out, how large can they go without affecting the overall playability of the platform? I did all I can do on my end. Last week, had no issues after correcting the faults from SU5. SU6, was the straw that broke the camels back. I'm done playing damage control after every update ( It shouldn't be that way ). Thanks for the post. Cheers!!

Over 2 years something prob changed pls update i flown in generic land for forever tried googlemaps went back and now its broken

Had this ssue as soon as I created a cache. Disabled the rolling cache, restarted sim and it worked again. Although others have had no luck so I think it's a server issue.

I installed the google map mod, wasn't impressed so reverted to Bing but not been right since. I am also getting thrown off line due to Bandwidth too low error I run at around 200mbps

After getting rid of google map mod ive been having connection issues, thought it might correct itself with sim update 7……👎 oh well lets try a fresh install!

Found the fix for the google map problem. If I remember rightly in the downloaded file there is a read me file that shows two lines which must be removed after deleting google app. I deleted these two lines and all returned to normal unfortunately I deleted the info so cannot help with the actual text but it should be in the read me file. Hope this helps

Not sure but it seems to depend on time of day, in the evening it often doesn’t work recently, but in the morning it mostly does in my case, maybe it’s a capacity issue (due to recent Xbox adaption perhaps)

I agree. They should have kept the two separated entirely when adding content. Two different systems with different requirements.

we left other Flight sim and came to the msfs for this reason for the bing maps and now I have 1 month without it and we can do nothing with 2 uninstall and a waste of time and there is no information what to do.👎👎👎

Solved! If you have ever used the Google mod you have to delete the file ‚hosts‘ in: c/Windows/system32/Drivers/etc/… i had the same issue, tried everything from fresh install, deleting cache, etc. but nothing worked. There is a redirectoring in the file so bing Maps can‘t be loading. Just delete this file and Start msfs again

My FS2020 looks shit. All cities look like armageddon, no photogrammetry anywhere. Thanks to the last update.

I had very similar symptoms after the Japan update, MS told me to clear all my cache, log out of the MS store and reconnect. that fixed my issues. Sure you've tried, but thought i'd mention it

this was due to an issue with the Microsoft servers, Microsoft/Asobo confirmed the issue on the forum post and have claimed to have resolved it for many people now

Fixed. What did I do? Signed out of Microsoft Store Opened Disk cleaner-cleared Cache. Clear System files (2nd round in Disk cleaner). Opened Internet Options in Control panel>General Tab>Delete Cache. Rebooted
