This is my review of Antler King's No Sweat seedblend. I planted a really nice foodplot of this last year. It has oats, ryegrass, canola and ladino clover in it. There is some cool whitetail deer footage in this, too. Great for crossbow hunting!
This is not a channel about shooting big bucks. I don't discriminate--I'll shoot any legal deer. ;)
I want to help make KZfaq the #1 place for quality hunting entertainment. I want to help spread the hunting lifestyle. To do that, I set up this channel to showcase the crossbow and help others film their hunts and get those videos online. So, subscribe to this channel to be entertained and learn more about crossbows and filming in the outdoors.
This channel is about my love of the crossbow, hunting, and the outdoors. I hunt almost exclusively with the crossbow. I love it. Sure, like a lot of kids, I started hunting with a good ol' Model '94 Winchester 30-30 back in the 80's, but drifted away from hunting when I went off to college, law school, and started a family. As my daughter got older, I regained my interest in the outdoors, and I consider myself lucky to hunt on the same property today that I hunted on as a kid. I got the Excalibur Axiom crossbow in 2010 and I haven't looked back. This channel is the result of combining my interest in filming and hunting...
...and music, too! My related channel, Yankee Militia, showcases my music. Some of the music is hunting-related, so check that out, too! The soundtrack for this channel is provided by my band, so the two are intertwined. The album for the current season is available wherever you download music online, and the Special Edition CD is available on Amazon.com.

This is one of the most informative videos I've seen on this product. I'm a newbie when it comes to food plots and I am still going to try this seed blend on the ground I hunt in southeast nebraska.

Question that is not related to this video. When you shoot with your dslr, how do you get by the noises that it makes? My 60d when I turn it on in video mode it releases the shutter which makes noise. Also, if I auto focus It does the same thing. I am asking when it pertains to filming hunts in particular. Do you just make sure you turn it on with plenty of time and hope the deer does not hear it? I am assuming you manual focus instead of auto focusing. I could be incorrect on that last part.

+Matthew Johnson it's tough, and it's one reason I might go mirrorless eventually. See my a7sII video...those do not click. Deer will hear that click (it's the mirror lifting up). I carry 2 batteries and put in a fresh one the for the last hour or so, when most activity takes place, and then I set screen timeout to turn off never and that way it's ready to record when I push the button, and doesn't have to lift the mirror.

+Matthew Johnson and yes, I manual focus. Auto on any camera tends to end up pumping in and out of focus while the camera tries to decide what to focus on. I use auto to pick a focus area on the screen, and then switch to manual on the lens to lock it in place. I did a video on that with some tips. It works pretty good for me overall.

Food plots seem to really increase the chance of getting deer for sure.

how much fertilizer do you recommend to put down in a small food plot without burning the seed up
@Deathbybunjie
@Deathbybunjie 8 жыл бұрын
+Duane Loyd depends on seed and soil test, but if no soil test most seeds have a recommendation on bag that's pretty safe. Plus if you disc it in before planting or put on before a good rain you reduce risk of burning. Under 1/3 acre of this No Sweat blend and you might only need one 50 lb bag of 19-19-19 or 15-15-15. How big a plot and what seed are you using?

+Death by Bunjie. I am planting a plot about 10 by 40. the no-till seed

+Duane Loyd sounds good, probably less than one bag, depending on soil test. Or you could look at jolt fertilizer. That can be sprayed on after adding water to it. A good coat each week will really help. You can't overdo it and burn your crops with jolt. Good luck!

rye grass is a waste!
@Deathbybunjie
@Deathbybunjie 8 жыл бұрын
+Andy Parisi generally I agree. It's a filler, grows anywhere so it makes you feel like it "worked". But I have shot a few deer over it. Ryegrass is the only thing that grew in my first few food plots before I limed, etc. They'll eat it when it's young and I'll use it when it's the first foodplot in a new area but in an established plot I avoid blends that include ryegrass just because it comes back and you have to treat it the next year. For me it's mostly just clover and turnips.
