This was actually the best way to close out D.C. as Bond, since it sets his entire run apart from all the other Bonds, in its own separate continuity - one long story with a beginning, middle, and end.

Agree with that. Craig's run of films were inconsistent (the 2nd film was definately the lowest point, 4th film underwhelmed aswell). But it's much harder to produce a story spanning over 5 films than to just make standalone stories all with more-or-less the same derivative corny formula. And the fact that they atleast tried to give the main and supporting characters (even some of the villains) some kind of depth to the point that it was possible to actually care about them (which for the most part worked very well), was enough to make Craig's tenure the best.

how did you enjoy the movie, it didn't felt like a Bond movie at all, James character keeps being belittle by everybody else, movie keeps dragging for the longest and you don't learn anything new for the character, the 2 bond girls didn't add anything to the story, Ana de Armas was just there to remind us this is a Bond movie but seems like I was watching Alice Milla Jovovich from the Resident Evil movies with those crazy stunts, then Laschanna who was advertised as the main lead next to Craign didn't had any memorable scene and suddnelly kils a scientific because he mentions he would kill all black people? like what a joke and left down of an era.

Craig's Bond was the first one who actually had a tangible background, an arc, real depth and an actual relationship that lasted longer than one movie. It was such a tragic, heartfelt conclusion. Whatever comes next for the series, it better be good.

When I first saw this, I was so stunned, just frozen in my seat. Then when M, Q, Moneypenny, Tanner, and Nomi toasted James, the tears came. But when Madeleine said to her and Bond's daughter, "I'm going to tell you a story about a man, his name was Bond, James Bond", and "We Have All The Time In The World" played, I just broke down. Having been a massive Bond fan since watching "Live And Let Die" as a kid, and initally being very sceptical when Daniel first got the role, but then him winning me over immediately in "Casino Royale", this ending was crushing yet so beautiful. I also loved how it harked back to the wonderful "On Her Majesty's Secret Service"... Daniel, you did the role proud, and couldn't have signed off in better style. ❤💔

I actually did expect him to die. It seems like a trend to kill movie heroes. By the time this was made they already killed: Iron man, Black Widow, David Dunn (Unbreakable), all of the X-Men, etc. If you think about it Bond went out just like the X-Men - he got his happy ending in the last movie when he retired and died in the next one, just like the X-Men got their happy ending at the end of Days of Future Past and then they all died in Logan.

Rewatching this scene still breaks my heart. Daniel Craig killed it as bond. The only film in the franchise that even comes close to what this was interms of sadness and devestatikn would be OHMSS with George Lazenby. Ive watched and loved bond ever since his first introduction in Dr. No. But NTTD was the first bond film to actually make it tear up. I will admit, leaving the theater after watching this did piss me off. I always had to notion of believing that bond cant die. But rewatching it several times, its a beautiful and poetic ending. Credit where its due, arguably the best ending kn the franchise. And one of the best closures for daniel craig as bond. His story unfolded and came full circle in the end.

The question is 'Who is James Bond and why is he important ?" Ian Flemings character James Bond is a spy and not a super hero. He is the righteous guy with duty to Queen and Country. He is dashing and bold, taking risks to catch foreign spies and criminals. He survives many close encounters and kills the bad guys. Films like Dr. No, From Russia with love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, O.H.M.S.S., Diamonds Are Forever, Live And Let Die, The Man with The Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy, A View To A Kill, The Living Daylights, License To Kill, GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies and the World is Not Enough were all great movies. The JB franchise starts losing their real focus on the charismatic figure JB and start rolling him up as a action figure far removed from the spy he is supposed to be. They should have read some of Ian Flemings books and kept JB as true to his book character as possible. Even fictional characters have personality and that personality sells and movie goers want to see their favorite character live on. Death of JB 007 will drive away fans. They should have let Daniel Craig retire as Bond and got another actor like Sean Connery to be JB 007.
@alexansari2138
@alexansari2138 7 ай бұрын
In a few years time the box office sales will drop much more than they have and with JB as another Joe Blow no one will care about him. Bond is dead and that is it for the fans. Reviving the corps is going to take a lot of wishful thinking. Albert R. Bocelli and Harry Saltzman must be rolling over in their graves. What have these fools done... ruined a good thing.

I knew he was going to die but seeing it end like that is just gut wrenching. There is no James Bond like Daniel Craig, no one can fill his shoes. He is incredible, he really brings to the table and he can play the spy, detective or any mystery role and nail it. There is this smoldering look her gives that makes you KNOW he has something up his sleeve. He conveys his emotions so neatly and really captures this quirky sardonic humor to his characters so well. I dont any actor can play Bond like him. It really is the end. I feel it so deep. I remember when I first watched Casino Royale my heart was really in my throat when he passed out before Vesper found him....but this scene. Ah even though I knew he dies I wish he had got his happily ever After. 😢 well done Daniel Craig. Your James Bond was the best one and only one I really enjoyed. 😢

My heart was breaking as James realized he couldn’t be in a world away from his loves, but at the same time knowing he could harm them if he did. Even if he lived and hoped for a cure, every moment apart would be an agony worse than death. James’ character arc went from a womanizing playboy who slowly opened himself up and got burned--all the way to having his heart fulfilled with his loves and the respect/admiration of his colleagues.
