I can't believe that this is the final episode! Porto is easily one of my favorite cities I've ever traveled to, and the francesinha is a big part of that. Any idea where I can find one in the states? Willing to travel 🙌

OK... I know that we are all here for the food and travel. But, I just got to say the cinematography is just spot on! From drone shots, panning, close ups to panoramic it just was so well done. Not only did this episode make me hungry and long for a visit to Portugal but, it please my sense of art. Man! I gotta say those Harris's are indeed a talented group of people! Obrigado! (the only word I know other than "oi" )

Porto is without a doubt one of, if not the best, place to live in the world, we have everything you would want while maintaining the appeal of a smaller historic city, has a river and sea, weather is very balanced and people are incredibly friendly... also Portugal as a whole is one of the safest country’s in the world, always a big plus

Viewers should know that the meats used in a Francesinha vary from restaurant to restaurant. And if this looks slightly similar to a Croque Madame or Croque Monsieur, it's because the Francesinha is Porto's version of those famous French sandwiches. Hence, Francesinha or "little French one." Had one when I visited Portugal...quite tasty indeed.

Hahaha -- "...just as good as I remember " -- says you (minute 3:28) after eating your seventh pastel de nata of the day. I love it! And those "Francesinhas" (I'm nearly embarrassed to say) -- had me absolutely mouthwatering just by looking at them... (Man, I need to get one of those in my tummy!) You were in one of my favorite areas of Portugal, but you need to spend more time north (Minho) and east (Alto Douro) of Porto, next time if you want to truly immerse yourselves in the gastronomic traditions of that area of the country. Great editing, choice of music, and presentation style, as per usual. Keep it up!

Really?! So where are all the minarets, and the muezzin call for prayer...?! Porto is a Christian city, did you not notice that, with all those churches, etc. Goodness, Porto Is on the Atlantic, its soul, like most of Portugal's, has got to do with the fact that we are beside the Atlantic Ocean, we're not on the Mediterranean Sea! Get some perspective, will ya?!!
@tasadem20
@tasadem20 5 жыл бұрын
Miguel Coelho wow, easy porto fan boy! I said looks like, not the same first of all. If you don’t know the difference, well I believe. On top of that, you are talking about the geographical location of the city. Are you serious? Also, if you need churches, there are many in Istanbul. I think you don’t know the fact that Istanbul was a Christian city before. I should be proud anyway if someone says Porto looks like Istanbul. It’s always on top if not on the list on one of the best cities in the world list😉 Whatever, I don’t have time to argue with a fan boy like you. Christian, Atlantic Ocean etc.. Geez, easy boy easy!
@miguelcoelho3877
@miguelcoelho3877 5 жыл бұрын
@@tasadem20 "I said looks like, not the same first of all. If you don’t know the difference, well I believe." -- No two cities in different parts of the world could ever look the same, so that is a moot point. It is you who don't seem to know the difference! "On top of that, you are talking about the geographical location of the city. Are you serious?" -- Very serious! The geographical location of a city (or of any place, for that matter) is important. Many things contribute to the character of a place. Location is most certainly one of them! The fact of Porto and all of Portugal being on the Atlantic has determined that Portugal's sphere of interest and influence have been linked to that Ocean, as much in the past as in the present, whereas Istanbul, as part of Turkey, represents, and is influenced by, a completely different culture, set of values, religion, and sphere of influences. You are part of the eastern Mediterranean, part of the Levant, the Middle-East, part of the former Ottoman Empire, with all that that entails. Check your History, if you don't know what I'm talking about...! "Also, if you need churches, there are many in Istanbul. I think you don’t know the fact that Istanbul was a Christian city before." -- Well, I am glad that there are "many" churches in Istanbul, that they were not all destroyed during the different Islamic invasions, starting with the one which caused the collapsed of the Byzantine civilization. So, tell me this: are Christians allowed to practice their faith, go to mass, etc., without fear of persecution from the Muslim majority? And I do know that it was once a Christian city, it was called Byzantium, the capital of the Byzantine Empire; and that it was called Constantinopolis, before that, when it was part of the Greek Empire. "I should be proud anyway if someone says Porto looks like Istanbul. It’s always on top if not on the list on one of the best cities in the world list😉" Well, speak for yourself. I, personally, would not like the analogy. Very different cultures, language, History, religion, temperament, etc. You, guys, have a reputation for being very aggressive and intolerant. The way in which you responded to the point I've made on this thread, calling me a "porto fan boy" (it's "Porto", and "fanboy"!), with more than a hint of underlying aggressiveness, seems to just prove the point. Be well and in peace!
