Seriously. There is this shrine somewhere where you must traverse pits and all they give you are large balls, and you're supposed to climb on the rock and get it to move and platform you to the other side, but I litterally just used ultrahand on the ball to make it go from the other side of the pit to me, then climbed on it and used recall. Shit just transported me, no issue. The pits became more and, more challenging... for the intended use. But my tactic beat it all in a heartbeat 😂😂😂

Man it just feels so lazy now. It’s like They took the most satisfying ways of solving puzzles which is solely teachings on the mechanics and watching them learn how to use it better and better through experience and then they’re like let’s just get rid of that and have one solution that works for every single puzzle we have is definitely not gonna get boring The 45th time you make a hover bike to ferry something across.

@@tumultuousv Yes, and no. Humans always default to what they know. For example, you can do anything you want in your life why do every day you default to the basic stuff. Repetition gives habits which Makes it more natural just to take the easy way out. At the end after doing a bunch, if you cannot figure out the solution to any puzzle, you won’t have the patience and you will just solve it the hover bike way. There is a reason why other games don’t have a instant win button for every single one of their puzzles, because at that point, they are not puzzles.

You can skateboard on rails using a regular shield or a shield with a minecart attached, the movement options are incredible in this game

That’s one of the reasons why I love Tears of the Kingdom. You can do some crazy things to solve puzzles, and they actually work. You don’t have to do the intended route all of the time.

Except using fans to push those floating platforms downwards. I believe the devs kept that from working because you’d be able to bring the platforms down to the lower level. (I tried making a hovercraft with them, it works 100% except for that one issue)

@@Cartermchick you technically can do it. You just need like 8 fans and a loooooot of patience. At least, I attempted to push them down in the great island, and found that it worked, but exceptionally slowly (like, 2 climb jumps of height at a time).

I had no idea how to get to the ascend shrine the “right” way after I got to the highest point of the area below it, so I cut some trees, glued the logs together leaned it up on the ice wall and climbed it. What a beautiful game.

Damn right it does. My brain is constantly screaming because the game made me realize i do not have a builder brain and how limited my imagination is--sleep depriving myself playing for hours does not help that whatsoever, but I'm hopelessly addicted to everything new. I have multiple shrines unfinished because of some bs thing i have to build to get to the end and can't figure out how or what the f-ck im supposed to put together to get to the end. Felt proud of myself though in one shrine making a catapult (the device in that particular shrine forces the metal planks to stand upright when turned on).

Honestly the best part abt the building puzzles is going back and watching other ppl do them because it’s all based on your creativity. Anything can work if you’re creative enough it’s actually super cool how many ways there are to solve any given “puzzle” or use of Zonai equipment and abilities

That’s kind of one of my favorite things about ToTK. There are so many ways to get around obstacles and to explore all of Hyrule that I could honestly play this game through multiple times just to find different ways to get to places. The mechanics are so good and I absolutely love the fact that there are basically three separate maps for you to explore in this one as well. So good!

my favorite method of problem solving in this game is making something so absurdly long that it just crosses the gap and clears the obstacle entirely but not how the game wants you to. My favorite examples I've done so-far: - Making a bridge of cooled rock to cross lava, using the previous bridge I made for the start of a shrine puzzle, making it so long I almost couldn't get it around the corner. - Instead of trying to figure out the order of giant cubes to use in a shrine to climb up to the finish, over a pool of water with electricity, fire spitting out from the side in the middle, 1 cube being wood, 1 being ice, 1 metal, and 1 stone, ice being the only one you could climb but also conducts electricity, to get to the wooden box you had to make a bridge of cooled rock over lava, I had a rage epiphany and just made a climbing ramp out of cooled rock. - Instead of trying to time and bounce a water bubble to collide with the one open side of a dreidel going light-speed, I got up on top of something, used a splashfruit arrow and a falling shot because there was low gravity, to time it right. - Almost soft-locking myself in a shrine because I did something dumb and shot the turning mechanism for the cube I had to get into, because of how close the cube was the platform I was standing on, I tried to jump off and time it, only to fall to my death, respawn where I jumped off of, but the cube was in the way of where I jumped, leading to me hugging the inside wall of the cube to the floor of the cube. - Once of the first shrines, the one with the hook-rails, instead of trying to get the ball or whatever it was on the rail to the finish, I stuck it to some boards it wanted me to build a gondola with, made a long thing instead, and just landed it on the other side.

This is my current favorite Zelda game... the fact of the matter is that you can approach every problem from almost any number of ways. Using rewind is busted in most puzzles because it can let you skip them, making convoluted machines lets you skip puzzles, etc. The ability to tackle the game however you want and have it work is fantastic.

It turns out you can actually climb on the hook, make a platform the intended way, do what you did, run on the rails, grind on the rails with your shield, or even just make a bridge with logs. And I’m sure there are even other ways to do it too! This game is so awesome!

i love games like this that give you multiple options on solving a problem. like in MGS3, you could beat the Fear by using guns, or you could feed him rotten/poisonous food to make him lose all his stamina
