I cover setting the iron sights on a restored No5 Jungle Carbine. As you will see, it is not easy every time. You can also see that they are not always tack drivers.

I mainly watched this video because I'm a newbie gun owner that bought my first rifle which is the lee enfield no 5 jungle carbine, but it needs a new front sight post. So I was mainly doing research about which part i need to buy. While watching the video i noticed that this guy is extremely knowledgeable and helpful and great video.

Terrific video, and greetings from Australia. I have just bought a 12/1947 Fazakerley No5, which, believe it or not, I've yet to shoot, but really looking forward to some time with this unique service rifle.

John, Glad you are enjoying the videos. I have a weak spot for the No5. I have been waiting for the primer situation to improve and the No5 will head to the 600 yard range.

Of all the videos, this is the perfectly unique and highest demand of it's type. Factory battle sights, overengineered Singer mechanisms, flip-up battle sights, battle zeroes from 300-500. What could be easier? I've done and was told by a Canadian WWII black guard that 2 clicks below the lowest marked setting (bottoming it out, is your 100 yard mark. I'm a 5-shot 3 1/2" group like this. Full bench, once lol

james you are so much more a better shot then that, your shots were very erratic, you may have a bad crown, or the barrel is shot out, it is not you, i have seen all your videos, you are truly a great shot, also you know how to reload, so it is not that, so like you said it is a wall hanger. thank you for all your videos on old surplus rifles, i have been collecting military surplus rifles for a long time and made some mistakes over the years, but i have learned what to look for, and so do you. thank you for what you do. keep up the good work .

I got a mk 5 a couple months ago and have put a few rounds through it. As you have experienced with yours mine seems to be the same with very poor and inconsistent groups. My conclusion is that these were modified military arms and not bench rest precision rifles so I am just going to have some fun shooting it and not expect perfection from it.

Robert, I will have to get back to that No 5. I think I can get it to shoot much better than it did in the video. I have two of them that can lay the law down. I shot one of them at the CMP matches and did well with it.
