My husband and I moved into a house last year that was built in 1989 and had one owner. It's legitimately never been updated except for the appliances. Heck the whole darn place is carpeted including bathrooms. 😅

The hooks and cloth piece on the wall in the blue bathtub is to tie the cloth shower curtain back

Molding on fireplace is called dental molding.

The pattern on the mantel and on crown molding is called dentil molding.

In the basement, there was a little metal rack in the storage area. That is actually a shoe rack.

I can't stand neighborhoods that think a house isn't good enough to be sitting close to theirs. Greed.

I grew up in the 80s 90s and this is a huuuuuge throw back. I don't get why they loved brown and beige back then haha but those kitchen cabinets were built to last, all you'd have to do is paint them up to modernise and it's a great home again. Don't get why they need to demolise houses like this

I’ve seen this house before and I’ve always wondered if this master was added later. The other end seems to be a master and this end seems to have an after thought feel. Is it over the garage?

All the bathrooms were designed strange. All that house and not even one large jacuzzi style tub. Why would they put the medicine cabinet behind the toilet? If someone forgets to close the lid and you go to get something, you have to go fishing. I did really like the step down longer hall to the master though, parents got lost of privacy and no kids complaining about strange noises coming from mom and dad's room. lol. I sure hope some of that stuff in the house will get repurposed? The nice hard wood, the fireplace. appliances, railings, and those central vac hoses are worth alot. Someone put it in the place i live, but took all the hose. So i never got to use it.

Would be nice to see alot of materials repurposed in rebuilding

Hi Noah, yeah, it's a damn shame that they're going to demolish that perfect condition home just because it doesn't fit in that rubs me the wrong way. But whoever owned the house had a weird sense of style. I can't make heads or tails out of that master bedroom at bathroom. I don't like the window between the shower and the toilet that I just don't like that at all. It looks like it's crammed into that space. That's apparently all the room they had to work with. It wasn't very big. They did a nice job but still and that part of the house where the master is did. I'm surprised you didn't say anything about this Noah that everything is white to trim the doors. Everything is white in there and that's so weird. The rest of the house isn't like that so why in God's name would that end of the house be all white? It makes no sense to me.

I like the old Newtown thing you just showed on their the conference thing. *Secondly,* I don't understand why since everybody says they're lacking money/funds, why they just rip down the house and build this big mansion. The big mansion is probably going to be cheaply made but with a computer system in it, that's how they do it nowadays. I feel like back then they built cars and they built houses with strength, nowadays they build cars and houses with computers and no strength. Everything is computers. Let a Cadillac hit a cheap car that's made nowadays and a Cadillac from the seventies and see what wins. That Cadillac is going to tear the s*** out of a cheap modern car.
