Going to school at different times like that is called 'split sessions' in the US. We went through it when I was in Jr High (8-10 grade) and I'll tell you now, it's horrible for evening school attendees if their parents work a regular 9-5 job. You go to school when your parents are gone, and you get home just an hour or two before they have to go to bed, so you rarely ever see them or get to interact. Plus, if you walk, you walk home in the dark most evenings, which can be pretty dangerous depending on where you live. Not only from random sketchy strangers, but also from wild animals if you live in rural areas. We had a kid get attacked by wild coyotes on their way home.

It's used to stop the rotors on the ground when the collective throttle is at or close to 0 and even that takes about 30 seconds to a minute. Also most modern helicopters have a safety feature that stops the rotor brake from engaging when the collective and throttle are above a certain threshold. Does that justify a tourist touching anything in that chopper? Absolutely fucking not. Unless you're a pilot you have no business touching anything especially without asking.

I'd like to elaborate on the Gas Station KZfaq - all of their interactions aren't faked except for the ones involving the Grinch who is also a KZfaqr and gets involved with them to make a funny video once or twice a year, usually during Christmas time. It's 100% normal for a gas station in the US to get people stealing from it on a daily basis, sometimes multiple people per day. Hell in one of the Gas Stations on my street they had to install a giant TV so they can watch all of the aisles at once even though there are only about 6 aisles, but it's because of the fact that people will try to hide things from them by ducking down and everything. Gas Stations getting robbed is a normal thing in the US and we usually have people outside begging for money, food, drugs, alcohol, tobacco or something else.

1:46 The rotor brake thing is actually not true. The brake is very weak and doesn't have the power to stop a rotor being powered by the engine. You would also have to pull it very hard and hold it for a long period for it to have any effect. It's main purpose is for stopping wind from spinning the blades while the machine is parked, or for slowing the blades quicker when turning the machine off.
