Noble method - the principle of Dependent Origination when applied in practice and on the basis of recollectedness of the feelings and the body in your day-to-day life.

The particular sutta passages are read from Ven. Akincano's new book, in the essay called: Kāyagatā sati - Mindfulness of the body | Path Press pathpress.wordpress.com/2018/09/21/kayagata-sati-mindfulness-of-the-body/

An excellent, easy to penetrate discussion, with a multitude of important clarifications within one discussion. May all monks have the strength, determination, courage and ‘desire’ to continue to broadcast these valuable discussions for the benefit of all willing to listen and engage.

*from sutta AN 5.73,* *_One Who Dwells in the Dhamma_* _... a monk studies the Dhamma ... He doesn’t spend the day in Dhamma-study. He doesn’t neglect seclusion. He commits himself to internal tranquillity of awareness. This is called a monk who dwells in the Dhamma._ 🙏🙏🙏

Dependent origination isn't just a part of Buddhism. It IS Buddhism. It is the very heart and core of His Dhamma.

So, since your cravings are rooted in that which is given beforehand and therefore not yours - feelings - your cravings are also not yours.

Great chat. Wonderful chaps. But I couldn't disagree more with his claim that 'true non-duality' would be complete unawareness of anything. Ironically, I think that view (which is very common) is an expression of an unseen division within his experience. He imagines that simply attending on something is a leaving of the recognition of not-2. But you can smell the rose and enjoy the smell while being perfectly aware of not-2. His claim that non-dual would be complete unawareness belies this assumption and how it operates in his practice. Which is NOT a big deal. In my opinion.

Doesn't the lack of a non-dual reality render the Buddhist life absurd at the point of death?

Do not get confused by his mannerisms and tone of voice. He is very compassionate in making the effort to live the dhamma according to the dhamma and sharing his experience for the wellbeing of all of us. He has a clear and sharp mind able to discern like a scalpel. There are many venerables which will probably suit your liking better but will not bring you forward a single inch on the path, much on the contrary. So tone of voice and mannerisms are not a measure of wisdom nor of clarity of mind. This venerable is as he is and very aware of how he is, does not hide or disguise himself to make himself palatable to an audience. I value this straightforward honesty very much. May you enjoy the blessing of sadhamma practice 🙏
