It’s interesting to see how very little has changed in some places in the Magic Kingdom since the 1970s. We did try to get a better angle for the boat one but for safety reasons we needed to stay seated and so we didnthe best we could 🤷♀️ If anyone knows the lovely human beings in the vintage photos, I would love to know who they are… there are SO MANY random family photos in my collection and I always wonder about them 😂

I think many people have misunderstood my comment about nobody doing this… I know there are millions of people who recreate their family photos (which is so fun!), but I don’t know of anyone who recreates photos of complete strangers they’ve never met, and certainly on the day that I was there I’m fairly sure no one else was doing this. That’s all I meant by no one else does this. 😊

@@jamess9660You need more of a sense of community if you think a group of friends finding pictures from the past and deciding to recreate it is creepy. It's just another of the million little ways humans are connected to one another. If people were recreating someone else's modern photos they posted to social media people would call it a meme or trend. Why is it somehow creepy when it's someone doing it with vintage photos?

Actually just saw a speaker that showed a picture of him and his dad in the stocks at Disneyworld and he recently recreated it with his son! Hopefully will be able to do the same with my family photos in the future!

Should check out the old Remember the Magic commercials they had back in 1996 for the 25th anniversary. They showed video of people essentially doing this past and present.

Where do you buy the pics? That’s interesting. 🤔 I have 2 pics of my grandparents with my mom, uncle, and aunt circa 1974. One of them in a room at the Poly, and one on the roof of the Contemporary… the only 2 resorts at the time. ❤

@@ambermac77 I buy them from eBay or I find them a flea markets. I don't have a lot of them, but I think they are fun. I have them in a small Mickey Mouse photo album and like to flip through them. I love the clothing of everyone in the 1970s.

Oh I did this! We had a photo from when my great grandfather worked at disney, and I managed to line up the photo of his shop with the modern day shop

I was there pre-EPCOT, in 1972. I saw a presentation that described what was going to be built and what it would look like. Don't know how close it was to the actual EPCOT because I haven't been there since.

I love doing this when I go... A shot from the treehouse of the castle, a pic on Main St USA, Hoop De Do revue. The folks from these pics with me have passed, so it isn't exact, but it's still fun. Thanks for sharing!

What happened to the original ferry boat? Does it still exist? Or was it just re-created into the new paddle boat?

The Admiral Joe Fowler’s engine went to Tokyo Disneyland so it’s kind of there, but it never got replaced in WDW. They just put the original names of the boats on the ferries instead and renamed the Richard F. Irvine the Liberty Belle
