The new Elizabeth Arden Retinol Ceramide Capsules Line Erasing Night Serum was a product I was very excited to purchase. I really like the packaging of the ingredients since you can travel lightly with as many capsules as you need. Also the packaging protects the ingredients from exposure to light and air. That is also why I wonder that they chose to include a controversial preservative, BHT, which is only recommended to be used in small amounts, although it is high on the ingredient list.
The Retinol Ceramide Capsules release a very pleasing serum which absorbs quick and leaves skin with a beautiful silky matte finish. I do wonder what the percentage of Retinol is since it is low on the ingredient list. The first time I used this it broke me out, but I haven't had any issues after the initial breakout. If you have acne prone skin I would recommend checking the full ingredient list out before purchasing it. I love that this is fragrance free and doesn't contain denatured alcohol. Not sure if in the long run this would replace my Paula's Choice 1% Retinol Treatment, but in the future when I travel I would definitely bring this with.

I have been using the Elizabeth Arden Ceramide skincare line for years, and it is one of the few that I can use without having a skin reaction (rash, blotches, etc.). I do travel every week for work, so enjoy the capsules for that reason. I also love their day and night cream. As far as cleanser, I use Cetaphil and whatever eye cream that I find, although I see Elizabeth Arden has that as well. The prices are expensive, so I have to switch to something cheaper if I am short on cash but need a refill. This is my first time buying the retinol. I have never used a retinol product before, so sounds like I made a good choice (although expensive)and I am only using it at night. Thanks for the review.

I was thinking about this product for traveling purposes, too. Since I fly internationally every weekend, I thought this product would help me save space, especially in my skincare bag. Great review, thanks!

Very.nIce little product .. I have a question I have prescription trentenoin cream the 1% if I have that do i need to purchase things like this elizabeth capsules ? It seems so good and I love every products you review ,I tend to be obsess over products that I don’t normally need lolll ... please let me know thank you in advance

If there is one thing that drives me insane about any retinol products, it is ~ when they DO NOT DISCLOSE THE AMOUNT/% Of RETINOL IN THE PRODUCT.! It’s soo annoying to me. 🙄😤🤬 Varying %s of retinol is for varying skin conditions. Soo not disclosing the amount ~ makes me NEVER WANT TO PURCHASE THE PRODUCTS.

Retinol is also sensitive to heat, which cannot be prevented by capsule alone. That’s probably why BHT was added.

I’m not sure if you’re aware of the 1% rule??? If a cosmetic has ingredients in quantities over 1%, they must be listed in order of quantity (highest to lowest). But if an ingredient is under 1%, they can list it in any order. So where an ingredient like retinol is on the list is NOT indicative of how much retinol it is. Almost all OTC retinol products will be under 1% (not all, must mannnyyy!). So where the company doesn’t disclose the exact amount, you can’t just look at the product list and try to deduce the amount. A retinol at 0.2% can still be effective, and yet it’s drastically different than a retinol at .6% (which would have harsher side effects). They’re both under 1% but you wouldn’t know it based on the ingredient lidt

Some retinol in your routine is better than none- so that is always a good thing. I'd recommend checking out the Versed Press Restart or the Paula's Choice Clinical Retinol Treatment next time,

My favorite mineral sunscreen is the Peter Thomas Roth Max Naked Mineral Sunscreen. My favorite chemical sunscreen is the Paula's Choice Resist Skin Restoring Sunscreen SPF 50. My favorite combo sunscreen is the Tatcha Sunscreen. I'll have to to a top five list! 😀

nadege king I was wondering the same thing I’m mostly interested in these for the ceramides but if I’m using tretinoin not sure if it would be a good idea to mix the two retinols
