How the bloody hell did Johnny Cage become one of the most well rounded characters in this franchise. I'm still shocked at how impressive this is

Lol I love how older Johnny hates his younger self so much. You can hear him internally like; “I don’t care if he’s me, I really hate this guy!”

Man, Cage should be grateful. Not everyone has their future self to beat some sense into them.

Its funny how he beat himself up with no problem, but when sonya beat up past kano future kano felt it.

There was a time when he punched Goro's nuts for breaking his glasses, now he's breaking his own glasses. 100% work on character development lmao

Johnny really grew thanks to Sonya, he even calls her his "better half".

I love how Older Johnny’s face just says “I seriously did not say that out loud”

In a way, Johnny Cage has a dream come true. How many of us wish we could knock some sense into our younger selves? Johnny actually gets the chance.

Gotta give credit to the voice actor and writers here, they really gave Johnny Cage a life of his own. Older Johnny is a charming an affable protagonist, and his comic timing is sharp. This is a better Mortal Kombat movie than anything we got t in theaters.

I love how at the beginning old Johnny has the most honest smile while the young one just grins like an idiot.

There is something so satisfying about this scene. I can’t decide if it’s an actually mature Johnny, or the way he trashed his immature younger self.

Seeing the older Johnny giving life and moral lessons to his younger self is quite satisfying. After his experience of the war between Netherrealm and Earthrealm, he has many of his friends died and some corrupted into Revenants and saw many lives lost. He has grown up from that and realizing that life is not all about spotlights, paparazzi and celebrity life, its about doing what is right and face reality to create a dream rather than living an not all true fantasy world. Seeing how much of an idiot and a jerk he was when he was young, he seeks an opportunity to correct his past mistakes by correcting his younger self. Truly, he has become a great man, fighter, hero, father, and all of the above. Even though he still keeps his ego dramatic. Still, he has my respect.
