Thanks so much for this video, I too have a Cooler Master HAF 932 Advanced case and am in the process of researching parts to perform an update of mobo/cpu/gpu/ram/psu to bring it more up to date with today's software and gaming demands. I currently have a Gen. 1 Cooler Master V8 air cooler on my cpu and would like to move to the NH-D15 in my rebuild. One question I had when viewing your video, is whether or not you needed to use low profile RAM sticks for clearance with the NH-D15 cooler in your PC? I will be moving from an ASUS P6x-58D Premium mobo to a z-390 (tbd) mobo, but I'm concerned about RAM clearance with the NH-D15. Your video has inspired me to do a complete Noctua fan overhaul of my case fans though, so many thanks for taking the time to make this video!

There should be a spec list on the noctua site to tell you how tall your ram can be. If you will be using noctua fans, be aware that they move more air than your stock fans and it will need dusted more often

Have this exact case (HAF 932) and adding the 140mm + 2/200mm fans, will arrive in a couple days :)

Hey bro! I know it's a video from years ago, but do you have any comparison of temperatures? or any observation on how the cooling in the computer improved after installing the noctua fan? Thank you very much for your answer!

Well, my old fans were dying anyway, so I wouldn't have a great way to testing before and after. But what I can say is that they are still used I'm my rig every day and work really well

The body of this fan is big so make sure you measure your case to see if it'll fit, even if the case says it will take a 200mm this still might not fit which was the case for my Cooler Master HAF 912. I replaced an old loud 200mm with this fan and I had to drill new holes and bend some of the metal on the side panel. It works great though!

Great video Andrew. I was so happy when I discovered that Noctua had released a 200mm fan just last month. I just needed to confirm that they were compatible with the HAF 932A. Based on the manufacturer's specs the dimensions matched up, but clearance and obstructions can always be an issue. I see from your video that the Noctua mounts just fine on the side intake. Could you provide some insight on how it fits on the top and front locations? It looks to me like there might be some conflict with the top mount position, and the front is hard to tell until you try to fit it in there. I'm sure other potential buyers looking for info would have the same questions. I ordered two of the Noctuas hoping they will be compatible. If they are I'll order a third fan. I also happen to have a CM HAF 932A that I used for a build back in 2011. I'm rebuilding the PC now and I wanted to find some better quality replacement case fans. The only options I found were the 200mm CM Megaflow and the BitFenix Spectres. I didn't want another impotent CM fan and I don't think the BitFenix fans fit the hole mount pattern of the HAF 932. So happy Noctua entered the 200mm market.

Sean Shepherdson it took them 4 years of engineering to do it, but I'm so glad they enter the 200 mm Market as well. I did make a video relatively recently showing the fans compatibility with the 932 and the X

I'm debating between the Coolermaster Megaflow and this one. I'm simply having a hard time justifying spending $30 for the Noctua when the Coolermaster is 1 decibel louder and has a CFM rating of 110 CFM vs 59.3 - 86.5 CFM for the Noctua's. I dunno...

LimeTimeHD one thing to keep in mind is noctua puts genuine engineering into their products and provides a 6-year warranty. the problem with lesser quality fans is that fans eventually do stop spinning as fast as they once did and are not as quiet as they once were. What you get with noctua is a consistent performance and noise level throughout the lifetime of the products, where is competitors tend to have a slight die off in both sections over time

LimeTimeHD phanteks or noctua is what I'd go for, those "old fans" from years prior don't do it as well as these newer fans

Funny to see people still replying to this, since I posted this I ended up picking up the Noctua fan and its been doing pretty good. It is still an expensive fan but it is definitely quieter than the stock intake fan that I had in my Corsair 650D case and in the hottest summer this fan couldn't quite make enough of a difference to keep my system cool enough to not overheat while under heavy use. However, to be fair my AC was out at the time and ambient temperatures in my room were stupidly high. Now with AC working and fall temperature really starting to cool down, it does really fantastic and even at full RPM which is where I keep it, its really quiet while moving plenty of air quickly. The quality of the fan is also pretty superb but even at 30 bucks I guess it depends on the person whether or not its a reasonable and justifiable purchase. I definitely do recommend it though, its been running great and now I have Noctua fans all around in my PC build.

1 year later... It's not easy to make a good 200mm fan. Don't just look at CFM and quietness. With these 20cm fans i've had motors die prematurely. I've had fans that vibrated like hell, and i've heard about multiple cases of blades breaking apart. Since there is no big demand the market for these size fans is full of complete junk, IMO Noctua here is worth it.

Larger the fan the slower it has to move to push air. Meaning it will be quieter than a smaller fan.

@@jadoei13 Too many fans cause turbulence and actually decrease cooling, best layout is literally one at the bottom front and one/2 at rear/top
