It's sad because CDPR always promised that. I don't know why marketing team decided it's gonna be good to advertise 2077 like it's next GTA. Their advertisement for Witcher 3 (which all people forgot) was "we're gonna do open world big like Skyrim but we're gonna actually give a crap about story aspects" And for Cyberpunk 2077 they wanted to do the same thing but bring non-linear gameplay mechanics into play (inspired by Skyrim and Deus Ex). There's actually interview with Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz talking about it.

it is a story game, the open world is just a bonus ( even if the city is mindblowing and probably the most impressive ive ever seen in a game ), the main reason you buy this game still is for the story, side quests and characters. Way too many people thought this would be a futuristic GTA in my opinion
@MrAncop3 жыл бұрын
exactly, I understand the critiques of the NPC AI, cops AI and some missing features (to a degree, we all know the general public became absolutely mental with the hype and started to fantasize about the game being a literal life simulator at some point) It really is on the same vein as TW3 or Mass Effect even, its all about history, most people were expecting the "blank-slate" type of RPG, more akin to New Vegas or even Skyrim, more classic type of RPG but it isn't, its a heavy-story based RPG, V is like a Shepard o Geralt, and thats okay, would the game with a more trad RPG style have the same story? I don't think so, in my opinion, it was the good choice to invest more on story than on pure RPG aspects, I replay TW3 regulary because its story, not its gameplay, BUT, I think that CDPR coulda just invest a little bit more on the gameplay side, a Social stat, even if simplified, a la Skyrim, could have been great, but oh well, the game, aside from the perfomance and technical issues is amazing, I really hope CDPR fixes it and adds some missing features in the future, its a shame that any type of discussion is shunt down instantly because the issues and missing content.

how can someone play this game to the end , and still say that it is not a very good game? I mean sure , lot of stuff could have been done better , optimization , cut content etc. But what really matters is how a game unfolds , and how it ends... When I finish one of the assassin's creed (if I actually finish) , I don't even remember what happened 10 minutes ago. When I finished cyberpunk ,one of the endings , I wanted to sit in a corner of my room , I was so depressed. the game hits you , and it hits you hard. And this will always be how you know a game is good. graphics , even gameplay are secondary to this if your game's main goal is to tell a story. This is when you realize this game is really art. because it makes you feel more than some bits of fun , it gives you an emotional ride. cdpr always succeeded at doing that , that's why I think most people like their games. it's just so sad that this game has been cut of so much of it's potential... it's like seeing Rembrandt paint "The Night Watch" , then his patrons come , throw his tools away , take a shit on his painting , try to sell it , and blame the painter for the unfinished mess. And yet , someone with good eyes would quickly notice the amount of details and dedication beneath all the shit.

i remember this scene on the rooftop back when it was 2021, i was in my bed with my laptop playing, and felt suffocated, in many ways, we're like v, we look for reasons for the stuff happening to us, we look for the most painless way to live, and by the end of it, death is inevitable, as desperate V was, all the world was at that time, we didn't know who will live, who will die, if it will ever end. It hit me hard, the pandemic was at its peak, and i found myself crying for those who couldn't make it because of the pandemic and didn't get to play this masterpiece.

The visuals on the roof where definitely some of the best in the entire game imo Beautiful colours the view of night city carrying on as usual as if nothing has happened even after all you have done in the game And right in front of you Arasaka tower Johnny and the ad for the relic 3 of the most important parts of the story in cyberpunk

What I find really crazy is that this perspective of the city must've been the very first concept, just for the motif, and then they built an entire city around it.

Oh the dread I felt the first time I got to this stage and had to pick a plan 💀 your choices may not actually matter much, but if the game manages to convince you that they do, does it even matter? I was on edge with every choice I had to make my first play-through
@karteltheinterrex4335 Жыл бұрын
A lot of us personalize this track with moment when V chooses his/her path. Think about it tho... all of the sick things you can witness in this game like mass poverty, mind controlling, corpos trying to destroy your soul... hell, there's even a theory that Biotechnika clones human meat in those creepy cow-farms of theirs. If you think about it all, you realize that that's what this track is truly about. It doesn't matter what you choose, or who you save, because this world is truly hopeless. It will end one way or another, and the only thing right now is to choose which part of this neon void you will be.

This choice was a point of terrible self reflection on how I played V, as not even Johnny was on my side. I’d fucked up panams story in the first mission locking me out of the rest, and took the opportunity to be an ass to Johnny the one time it mattered. Judy, I’d already called was the only relationship I hadn’t screwed over in the game. I genuinely considered the path of least resistance, before remembering- I’d come too far in trying to get rid of Johnny to let him take over. I downed the blockers and sold my soul to the devil (literally). That V is still waiting, until she can be a tapeworm on some poor soul who would dare try to steal a 'saka chip yorinobu.

Putting aside the glitches and false promises; this game is by far one of the best games in terms of emersion. The soundtrack, the natural dialogue and brilliant voice acting of the npc in combination with the phenomenal ambience of the world makes you become hooked and emotionally invested in the game. There is a reoccurring theme of melancholy throughout the whole game which is carried heavily by the story in combination with the looks of a run down night city and the mournfull soundtrack seen here. I have yet to see a game that can copy this kind of artistic display.

When I hear this music I have some scenes before my eyes: *Abby kills Joel, The Last of Us Part 2. *Shepard sacrifices himself for synthesis, Mass Effect 3. *Desmond sacrifices himself in order to protect humanity from Sun in 2012, Assassin's Creed III. *Sylvanas and Anduin in the Maw, World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. *Johnny goes with Alt and save V, Cyberpunk 2077. *Detlaff's death, The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine.

It's extremely cathartic for people who've wanted to say, "fuck it all." You can just feel how tired, exhuasted, and fed up with his reality V is at this point. He's sick of Johnny. He's sick of Arasaka. He's sick of watching people die. He just wants it to end.
@nourmoralli9014 Жыл бұрын
You can just tell how tired V is how sad he is but not once did he ever shred a tear not once in the game do they show him crying….

Don't fear the reaper was a great ending if you beat the challenge you get probably the second best ending in the game no one dead and your a legend in NC but if ypu fail you get the suicide end credits which is pretty much what you do entering Arasaka's front door very well thought out I think
