He’s so much better when he’s a little humble. Love the cockiness, but hate when he goes on about “there’s no more rock n roll music, Oasis was the last rock band” it comes off as some old man yells at clouds.

@@conormccolgan4758 no, he wouldn’t be. Plenty of great rock bands in the UK alone right now. Fontaines DC, Shame, The Smile, IDLES, Black Country New Road, Squid. Hell, even if you want the same nostalgia you could just listen to Liam. Plenty of great bands out there, Fontaines DC has even been compared to Oasis

What he’s not correct on is “Oasis being the last rock band” or his ABYSMAL take on “Holy mountain is almost revolutionary as no one makes happy rock anymore”. Edit: and don’t get this mixed up, I love Noel. Council Skies is in my top 3 albums released this year. I’m just saying some of his boomer takes are eye rolling

Oasis' music really stood the test of time. My favourite Oasis song is D'you Know What I Mean and if that would release today, it would be even greater than back in 1997.

Do you the know meaning of flop? The fact you recognise it as a number 1 makes your statement even more confusing! It sold 350,000+ in its first week. It was massive in its own right, regardless of being the follow up to WTSMG. It’s still widely regarded as one of their best singles. There was a delayed critical backlash against Be Here Now, but even that is largely re-evaluated these days. DYKWIM was massive, it couldn’t be further from a flop.

I am a musician and guitarist and am just getting back into Oasis again. I obviously liked their hit songs back in the day but now I appreciate them even more. Noel is an amazing songwriter and a solid guitarist. He wrote some absolute anthems that will be respected for generations

Get a grip! They were a glorified pub band that made two OK albums and after that were dire! Don’t get me wrong- Talk Tonight, Slide Away were amazing songs and Fade Away too but the majority of it ain’t all that!

Oasis has stood the test of time even for hundreds of years to come. Used to think Noel and Liam quite scary. Until recently picking up Oasis songs again and watched Noel's interviews that has changed my view on him. He is not just a genius song writer he is a very smart funny guy.

I remember hearing supersonic on the car radio when it came out. In America they didn't play many bands from the UK so it was even more of a stopper. I thought who the F was that.

That just lets ya know how 'in-tune' Creation Records was w/what tunes to release as singles over here Stateside... 'Champagne Supernova' was a *"radio-only"* single over here in America... And it spent weeks & weeks @ #1 on the Modern Rock Charts! If it'd been a full-on physical single, there's no doubt in my mind that Noel Gallagher would have had his #1 American Billboard single, no problem whatsoever.... Great tune, that was.💯
