Side by side, see how these trainers stack up when it comes to making noise (or not).

Dude, I think you you are hilarious. You reviews are getting better and more interesting to watch. All three of you should have waved bye bye to the camera. Thank you so much for taking the time to put in all the hard work to help us. I already purchased the NEO a few weeks ago and after watching this video I'm feeling even better that I made the right choice.

3:25 Tacx Flux; 4:47 Tacx Neo; 6:13 Wahoo KICKR2. ALL 3 in sequence 7:20.

That was such a better test compared to your neo vs kickr video where you just talked the whole time. 😋Good comparison... I want all three! 😁

Thanks for your reviews. I found it very helpful in deciding to buy the Tacx Flux. Just an FYI to people - this thing is going to retail for $899 in the US. I've been finding it in the UK in the low $700's. Just buy a outlet adapter and you'll be good to go. Anything under $800 is free from Customs/Duty Tax.

That waiting for the flywheel to wind down on the Neo was nuts! Can't coast on most trainers like that.

I had a Wahoo Kickr and just got a 2017 Tacx Neo. I love how much smoother and quieter it is. You don't realize how annoying the high pitch whine of a Kickr is until you've lived with it for a year and switch to a Neo. Plus the road feel simulation in Zwift is awesome.
@johntrussell72287 жыл бұрын
Hey sorry for the late reply, didn't see this right away. The Kickr has excellent road feel, however the Tacx Neo feels even more realistic. It can simulate downhill / coasting in a way that no other trainer can since it does not use an intertia flywheel. It's an amazing feeling. The Tacx Neo is the only true direct drive trainer due to it's unique design. The thing to keep in mind though, it seems that Tacx is having quality control issues. If you join the Tacx Neo owners group on Facebook you will see countless videos of people having issues direct out of the box. Not sure why Tacx is having such issues on such an expensive product. I got lucky and mine has been flawless.

Looking for a second smart trainer, right now I am using the Wahoo Kickr (old version without LED´s). What would you suggest? The new Kickr, or the Flux or maybe the Elite Drivo?? Or a complete different one? I love my Kickr, but maybe I´d like to try something different. Regards from Germany

Ray can you please compare any of these to a cheap magnetic trainer?
@viljarsaare54917 жыл бұрын
3 Rays in a row. Awesome! :D well the Neo is in a league of it's own like you once noted some time ago. But the kickr2 and flux are basically the same level of noise but the pitch is different. As now all the excitement is gone with new trainers, it couldn't be more interesting to see what comes next as probably direct drive trainers are getting more popular, prices go down and all trainers are having ANT+ FE-C since Zwift kinda pushes producers to invent as it's getting more and more popular.

How about a test between the Neo/Flux and a Vortex/Bushido trainer. It would be useful for those of us considering an upgrade from that type of trainers. Thanks for all these great reviews! :)

The Kickr2 I just returned for reasons not related to noise was louder than my old Tacx Flow trainer. By quite a bit, in fact.

Kinda hoped you compared the trainers on the exact location in the room with the same bike on every trainer. The flux stands next to the wall where the sounds bounces of.

What about the vibration? I am using NEO for a week now. And my downstairs lady is complaining about the vibration from the wooden floor.....are u able to compare that? Thank for the 3 trainer review about the noise. U felt NEO is less noisy...
@thenerdycanadian71727 жыл бұрын
i heard just getting a cheap yoga mat fixes it, not to mention it will catch any sweat
@Mighty_Duckie7 жыл бұрын
TheNerdyCanadian Thank for your advice... actually I'm using a 10mm thick yoga mat. But i felt the sound or vibration is passing through the wooden floor and turn the sound or vibration like a speaker... kinda hard to explain... bit i think you know what i mean....
@thenerdycanadian71727 жыл бұрын
Mighty_Duckie it sounds like wherever you live didn't do a very good job soundproofing the floor
@rondar27 жыл бұрын
just buy the cheapest small carpet from ikea. they are really cheap. cheaper than the tacx floor mat for sure. it is thick and stops these problems.
@THSV2757 жыл бұрын
Ive sort of solved this problem: Take some cheap sleeping mat in expanded, soft foam from your local outdoor/variety retailer and cut it up in 3 swathes to cover the area that your bike stands on. Put that right on the floor. Then take a trainer mat that is sweat resistant and a bit noise dampening, i use the tacx one. Put this mat on top of the cut up sleeping mat. Then cut up 4 pieces of MDF (real solid, sort of artificial wood made from wooden rest products) and duct tape them good with atleast one layer. These 4 pieces will be "islands" that you put your trainer legs on. The aim here is to reduce resonance. Just any of these on its own wont do it, but together they work beautifully. Try it. Its really cheap. Dm med for pics

I wish I could average 20mph at only 200W. Maybe it's time to invest in a trainer instead of riding outside all the time.
@Marcin79W5 жыл бұрын
It depends on weight of a rider and aerodynamic much. Heavier and bigger rider needs to push more watts to get the same speed especially when windy or uphill.

IS it just me or does the NEO I sound the best and quietest?
@bobski367 жыл бұрын
Slightly quieter, but for $800 less the Flux is pretty stealth as well.
